16 millimeters was fabulous! Even better than the original. The character development and story kept me turning the pages.

Dollycas’s Thoughts Maizie Albright is working at Nash Security Solutions but as a bookkeeper instead of getting the training she needs for her private detective license. That changes when she brings the firm a new case that entails keeping a movie starlet out of trouble and to the set on time. Should be easy, right? But what starts out a basically a babysitting job turns into a full blown case with dead bodies and body doubles. It also brings Wyatt closer to admitting his feeling for her. Now she just needs to stay alive and solve the case so she can maybe take their relationship to a whole new level. Hollywood comes to Georgia and brings a whole bunch of trouble. I liked that Maizie had a history with actress she is supposed to be “watching” and quickly finds out she really doesn’t know her very well at all. It isn’t long before Nash is brought in because with the sighting of more than one dead body that goes missing before the cops can arrive, Maizie is clearly in over her head. Maize still has the spunk she had in the first book, standing up to her overbearing mother and not giving up on the case. Finding herself in some sticky situations she is able to think on her feet, but some situations could be avoided if she would think before she acts. That is why she is still in training and #StillAWannabeDetective. The author has packed a lot of action, danger, humor, and romantic tension in this story. Twists and turns are “off the chain” The relationships and conversation are realistic and had me laughing so many times. Maize is truly one of a kind and I just can’t get enough. Unlike her former Hollywood persona, Julia Pinkerton, there is no script and the dead bodies and the danger are all real. And so is steamy Wyatt Nash. Another awesome character that I love. I dove right into this book and completely escaped. Yes, I think I am channeling my much younger self a little bit in this review. Maizie just brings that out of me. This was a fun read and I can’t wait for the next Maizie Albright Humorous Mystery! I really want to follow her wherever she goes and whatever messes she gets herself in and out of. #AMUSTREAD #5STARS #GETYOURCOPYTODAY

Remember the commercial where an actor said "I'm not a doctor I just play one on TV? Well, once again Maisie Albright, who played a detective on the Julia Pinkerton, Teen Detective TV show, is determined to be a private investigator and solve a mystery. She and her reluctant boss Wyatt Nash have accepted the job to watch out for one of her former co-stars while a film crew is in her hometown of Black Oak, Georgia and this is where the fun begins. Maizie's discovery of a dead body soon has her involved in a case that had me laughing out loud as she tries to figure out who did what when; and where, why and how these things happened. So many questions and she has to deal with her mother/former manager, a probation officer, and the police as she works to find the answers. This is the second installment of the Maizie Albright Star Detective Mystery series by author Larissa Reinhart and it is a fun story filled with mishaps and mayhem! There is also some romance as Maizie tries to impress Wyatt and earn his respect and affection. I recommend 16 Millimeters to anyone who is longing to read an entertaining mystery. I was given a complimentary eBook copy of this book but was not required to write a review.

Another new favorite. I didn't know what to expect. What I got was a fun romantic, comedy, mystery. Making the whole mystery thing a simple enjoyable read. Since Maizie knows her way around a movie set she seems the perfect babysitter for the startlet. But when bodies start showing up her past acting skills have to take second fiddle to her new sleuthing skills. The reader is swept along with Maizie as she works at becoming a real detective and gaining Nash's trust and heart. I wondered which she would manage first. The detective label or the 'One' label. Maizie is a loveable character. Nash is 'her's so I can't comment on his qualities. The story is filled with twists and turns as Maizie discovers a body and then the body isn't a body and then another body turns up. It's a real challenge for a 'Wannabe Detective'. Although 16 Millimeters is book 2 the reader isn't let confused having not read book 1. Maybe a little wistful. The series promises to be a winner! Book 2 16 Millimeters was certainly a winner. Congratulations to Maizie and Larissa! I loved the book and give you a 5 star review! I'll be checking out book 1 while I wait for the next one! I received a complimentary copy from Great Escapes Tours.

This is a great book; this book is the second book in the Maizie Albright Star Detective Mystery series written by Larissa Reinhart. In continuing her career-makeover quest as a for-real detective, ex-teen and reality star Maizie Albright has a big learning curve to overcome. A sleuthing background starring in a TV show-- Julia Pinkerton, Teen Detective--does not cut the real life mustard. It doesn't even buy her lunch, let alone extra condiments. Her chosen mentor, Wyatt Nash of Nash Security Solutions, is not a willing teacher. He'd rather stick Maizie with a safe desk job and handle the security solution-ing himself. But Maizie's got other plans to help Nash. First, win Nash's trust. Second, his heart. Wait, not his heart. His respect. His hearty respect. So when a major movie producer needs a babysitter for his hot mess starlet, Maizie eagerly takes the job. But when her starlet appears dead, and then not dead, Maizie's got more than an actress to watch and a missing corpse to find. Body doubles, dead bodies, and hot bodies abound when the big screen, small screen, and silent screams collide. Maizie's on the job, on the skids, and on thin ice, hunting a killer who may be a celebrity stalker. And Maizie just might be the next celebrity who gets snuffed. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

(I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it) “Familiarity breeds contempt. So does questionable morality and murder.” Won’t anyone stop thinking of Mazie Albright as Julia Pinkerton, the teenaged Star? Well, it might help if Mazie stopped channeling her. In this, the second of Rheinhart’s new series about the PI in training, Mazie and Wyatt Nash take on a film crew setting up in Black Pines that hire them to “babysit” a former co-star of Mazie’s from her TV show days. And even she’s impressed because the former sidekick has a shot at a real career if she can stay “ clean and sober” for the run of the film schedule. A convoluted soap opera of “ he said, she said” leads to a crazy whodunnit and why as Mazie just keeps ahead of her probation officer and the police in a story that will keep you guessing who the mastermind actually is and why the whole dang thing got so convoluted in the first place. Larissa Rheinhart has returned to Black Pines in full on mystery form as her characters try to keep on track figuring out who, what, when, where and exactly how you hide a gun under spandex. The story will keep you riveted , the writing will keep you laughing and the energy between the characters will keep you coming back for more. Highly entertaining and recommended.

Maizie Albright and Larissa Reinhart have done it again! Action, humor and heart tied me to this delightful mystery from beginning to end! Nash doesn't play a really big role but OH, MY, I think I would read the books just for him. I have caught Maisie's crush. The ex-actress just can't keep from getting drawn into the drama around the business that has followed her to Georgia. Not only is she dying to turn her internship into active investigative time, she is drawn to help those with whom she can relate, not to mention, Nash's business needs the big bucks and she is one of the reasons! From the time she sees what appears to be the dead body of old show mate the neophyte detective refuses to give up on uncovering the muck that is hiding under the covers of the flash of show business but she is also concerned about the person who, contrary to all appearances, she would swear was dead. Nothing is every easy for Maizie anymore but she refuses to give up. Nash is not thrilled for his agency to be drawn so close to the TV industry but he needs the money before his vengeful ex takes over the business. The warmth of Maizie's dad's family and the shadow of her mother's disapproval follow Maizie throughout the novel. I was thrilled to get to read an ARC of 16 Millimeters. Thanks you Ms. Reinhart! I loved it!!!
