About the Author
Helen knows what it feels like to be fat-so fat that she could not even tie her own shoes. She overcame her challenges with weight and lost 82 pounds, becoming a fitness pro in the process. Her passion is to help others lose weight, get healthy and change their lives. Helen is an ACE-certified personal trainer, certified Pilates instructor and certified Spinning® instructor.
In her free time, Ryan interviews rock stars, photographs rock concerts, and eats chocolate (really). She still teaches Spinning® classes, which is another passion--and one of the things that saved her life. Helen lives in California, and has two awesome children.

The author has gathered many helpful tips and ideas for a healthier lifestyle in this step-by-step guide. The ideas she gives in the book are not radically new or different, most are common sense. However, they are presented here in a new and fresh way, and set up so they are easy to follow through on. Along with the tips for healthier living, the author also gives us insight into her own life, showing how these steps helped her to become a healthier, happier person. I thought this personal touch brought a lot to the book, and I look forward to implementing some of the ideas presented in the book.
The author gives great information if you are just starting out or if you have worked out for a while and need a kick in the pants to keep going. Her story is very inspiring and makes you belive that you can do it to.
I read it straight through and I'm now starting it again, fantastic book! Helen unlocks the mystery to weight loss and "puts the key in your hands". You can use the principles in all aspects of your life, which allows me to come out of any given situation stronger, physically and mentally than I went in. Great book Helen, thank you!
