The name Karen Clark-Sheard has been synonymous with music fans for more than two decades, basically due to her association with her sisters Dorinda, Jacky, and Twinkie, collectively known as the Clark Sisters. Sheard's 1997 debut solo effort, the critically acclaimed Finally Karen, increased her already large fan base, with the assistance of special guest Donald Lawrence, urban music chanteuse Faith Evans, the Clark Sisters, and her daughter Kierra Sheard. The project garnered Sheard a Grammy nomination, a Lady of Soul award, and four Stellar awards. Her Elektra Records debut, the 2002 release 2nd Chance, pairs Sheard with some of the top production talent within the music industry, including Walter Milsap, Lawrence, the PAJAM Production team of J. Moss and Paul D. Allen, Tim & Bob, Mike City, Richard Smallwood, and Missy Elliott. Elliott shows that she can do more than produce hot hip-hop beats through the tracks " Only Call on Jesus" and " Higher Ground." Sheard gives masterful performances on both tracks, joined on the latter by fellow gospel divas Kim Burrell, Mary Mary, and Yolanda Adams. Sheard pours her heart and soul into the beautiful "If I Can't Say a Word," written and produced by Lawrence. Sheard even displays her own production and songwriting talents on the captivating "It's Not Over." The project's remaining tracks features a mixture of urban-flavored and traditional gospel-laced material.

Karen is a sensational artist. She lets the Lord take control of her body and shows Himself through her. Her latest CD 2nd Chance is awesome, especially #12: Sacrifice. It is wonderful how her and her daughter sound the same. The Lord is using both of them. I pray that God will bless them beyond belief. God Bless All ~~

now that karen was given a 2% chance to live she names her album: 2nd Chance! THIS ALBUM IS OFF THE HEEZY 4 SHEEZY! I'm her fan kenneth welcome. THe balming "Be Sure" the miraculous "Only Call On Jesus" the slow tempted beat of "Seceret Place" and last but not least The edgy Higher Ground! Don't forget her Cry-tempting smash duo with Kierra Clark-Sheard "Sacrifice"

What I am trying to get people to understand is that the Clarks are anointed and appointed to spread the word of God through song. The holy spirit is singing through Karen on this album. I mean God has truly given her a gift to minister whether the tracks are traditional , or non-traditional. All of the songs are wonderful and thumbs to the A&R team. Again J. Moss is doing his thing and doing it well as always. I mean my brain is still trying to comprehend Track 2 on Dorinda's album let alone what he did on 2nd Chance, So Good, and Track 1 on this album. He truly is a musical genius. My prayer is that Karen along with Dorinda, Twinkie, Jackie and Denise will receive the recognition they deserve from the Music Industry as a whole. Their music is timeless, and on time for this lost and dying world.

I love this album more than the first. I really appreciate how Karen has taken an old COGIC praise song and made into a full fledge beautiful song (If I couldn't say a word). I love the duet with her daughther Kierra who is sounding more and more like her mother everyday. I was happy to see Missy returning some of her talent to where she got her start (Missy used to perform with Peggy Britt back in the day y'all) My favorites are So Good and Secret Place. But I also love I've been changed because I can really relate to the lyrics. I love the fact she involved Dorinda with this project. All of the sisters are close and involve one another in the projects. COGIC is strong and still be represented in the right way. Get it if you don't already have it. Also pick up Dorinda's album as well as Twinkie's. These sisters are just too awesome.
