Overview

Jerusalem, 33 A.D. The vampires of the era have long sought to gain a foothold into Israel, but the faith of the local Jewish population has held them in check for centuries.

When one of their own betrays them to follow a strange young rabbi from Galilee, the elders of the vampire race dispatch Theron, a nine hundred year old assassin, to kill them both.

The rabbi's name is Jesus. Killing him should be easy.

"33 A.D. by David McAfee is a wildly original, non-stop pulse pounder that tells the story of a vampire assassin whose mission is to kill Jesus of Nazareth. In a genre mired by cliché stories, this stands out as something bold and new."

Jeremy Robinson, author of PULSE and INSTINCT.

"David McAfee's 33 A.D. is a truly compelling and unique perspective on the events surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. With all the skill of a seasoned novelist, McAfee's thriller brings a melange of riveting characters, otherworld mythology, and political intrigue together in one fascinating read - a tautly paced winner on all levels."

Jon F. Merz, author of the LAWSON VAMPIE novels and PARALLAX.

With its blend of vampires, horror and religion, this book was so far out of my comfort zone, I thought I might never find my way back. Because of that, it took me a little while to become immersed in the story. If it had been a film I was watching, there would've been plenty of occasions I would've closed my eyes - that's only because I'm a wimp. I am no judge on what makes a good horror novel, but I do recognise excellent writing when I see it. McAfee's writing is polished, the story well structured and there's a strong sense of place and time. But more than all that, it's compelling reading. Impressive. Highly recommended.

I almost never give out 5 stars to authors who haven't established a large presence in my personal library. That said, I give top marks to David McAfee and expect him to wow me with his other books as well. He demonstrates a remarkable ability to draw the reader into the scene and keep turning pages. I read this entire book in just over 24 hours and blame David for my exhaustion due to lack of sleep. Fabulous story, well developed characters, and a story that follows real vampires. If you're looking for sparkly and cuddly, you should go elsewhere. Fantastic and thank you for the excellent read.

Welcome back to BAD Vampires. What if vampire politics were behind major events of human history? What if they actually plotted to kill Jesus, and orchestrated the events leading up to the crucifiction? Mr. McAfee explores those possibilities and their horrifying ramifications. This was a well written story that kept me reading avidly until the end. I can't wait to see more books in this series, I would love to know what other major events Vampires might have affected.

I have read this book from cover to cover and was totally impressed. I have not read any vampire books before this one. I am glad to say that I will now read all of them from this author. I would highly recommend this book for all who enjoy vampire books and anyone who has not had a previous experience like myself. You will not regret it!!

This was a fascinating look at how vampires might have influenced the crucifixion of Christ.

Gripping, really well written. Twists and turns all the time and a story you have NOT heard before. Fallen in love with the 2.

I admit I went into this book with a serious level of skepticism and trepidation--the premise was quite original, but the potential for missteps was high. Well, McAfee pulled it off. What a read! Taking the greatest story every told and working vampires into it took astonishing guts, skill, and something akin to literary genius.

This book offers a whole different spin on vampires and the time of Jesus. A very interesting story and one which grabs your attention from the start and never lets go. The characters are very well defined and interesting. No shallow characters here. I've started to read the second book and so far it is as good as the first. Mr. McAfee I hope there will be many more books in this very interesting saga. I have already purchased the book you have released on the two main characters. Keep them coming and we will keep buying. Thank you for your wonderful imagination.

Somewhat entertaining. Gets too stretched out at halfway mark. A lot of characters actions and motivations are ridiculously unbelievable.

I found this book very intersting as it deals with a topic most people are familar with but takes a whole new spin on it. I think the author did a fantastic job of weaving his fantasy ideas into real history. Thank you for sharing this with us. Love it!

This is an awesome book. The author did an excellent job of intertwining a fictional (I hope it is fictional!) story around an event that has affected millions. the development of the characters was strongly done and the author was articulate. He didn't rehash the death of Christ or push any religious views. I haven't checked yet but plan to - I hope there are more books by this author.
