I love reading to children from the day they're born. Reading and looking at pictures in books are wonderful learning tools for the stories of the Bible. While young children, ages 8-12 perhaps, will be able to read this book, I think that is too complex for younger children, ages 3-7. The wording and length of the stories could be changed to meet the needs of younger children. Some of the stories were quite explicit for younger children. I don't even let my grandchildren watch shows with murder. It is frightening to young children. For younger children, these parts could be left out. I think young readers in 2nd grade and up would enjoy reading these stories on their own or with an adult as they can discuss the stories also. I like having the scripture references for each story. The illustrations are lovely and help to create a visual image for the child. I am giving this book a 4 **** star rating. I received a copy of this book from netgalley and Barbour Publishing in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own. I was not required to write a positive review.

365 CLASSIC BEDTIME BIBLE STORIES "I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review." As a grandmother, I am always looking for books that I can send on to my 12 grandchildren. With so many young grandchildren I am keenly aware of what will cause interest and what is considered uninteresting. This book is colorful and catches the attention of the younger kids right away. They liked looking at the pictures while the older ones found the stories easy to read and each story just the right length for keeping attention spans. Along with the book holding interest, appealing to the eyes, it also is of good quality and even has an attached bookmark so you can keep track of where to start for your next reading. It would be a great gift book for young families, and just enough of the story is given to allow for additional discussion. NOTE: As with any book that is attempting to offer an overview of a Bible story, the accuracy and content will vary. For those reading the stories to their children, it is essential to know the story accurately yourself so you can still enjoy the 'storybook' style with little ones while imparting an accurate picture of the story through discussion. I feel this book designed for ages 3-6.

This is a great book to read to children! I appreciated that there are lesser-known stories included, and I feel like reading one or two stories each day will give children a deeper knowledge of the entirety of the Bible. The illustrations are simple and colorful, perfect for younger children. Each page is a summary of a story in the Bible, and while they are portrayed in an age-appropriate manner, I wish that the quotes from what the people said were not put into a modern day narrative, but the actual words spoken from the King James version of the Bible. I think it is important for children to get used to the language of the Bible for when they begin to read it on their own. Overall this is a valuable resource for developing a love of the scriptures in children. There is even a ribbon bookmark attached to hold your place! (I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)

3.5 stars for this child devotional of summarized Bible stories.... 365 Classic Bedtime Bible Stories Inspired by Jesse Lyman Hurlbut's Story of the Bible Illustrations by Alessia Girasole Looking for a new Bible bedtime devotional for the upcoming year? One that you can share with your little reader? Well, this one might be what you are looking for. The stories start with Creation and continue through Revelation. Each page is one day and is a summarization of a Bible passage. The Bible passage from which each story is taken is referenced before the story is related. The illustrations are throughout and should capture children's attention. My only complaint with the illustrations is the lack of skin pigmentations. This area of the world was a major trade route so there should have been more racial diversity. There is an index at the back broken down into Old Testament and New Testament so that one can search for a person, place, or thing based on the Testament. The book is hardcover with what appears to be a stitched binding. There is a red ribbon place marker attached to the spine so that one's place can be easily marked through the year. This book is aimed more towards younger children, I'm thinking 3 - 8 years of age. This is a time to share with your children so be sure to read the Bible references with your children to add more depth to the story beyond this short summarization. I was provided a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

First of all this is a beautifully bound book – hardcover with thick and smooth pages. Sharp color and very well illustrated! Even comes with a red ribbon to keep your place as you read. Each page has a Bible passage listed on it and then the story after it. What I loved was the stories are in chronological order as they are in the Bible – beginning in Genesis and ending with Revelation. Perfect bite-sized retelling of the verses listed. This is wonderful for daily devotions for younger kids! In the back is an Index with key words or phrases to look up the corresponding page if you want a specific subject. This would be the perfect gift for any youngster or family. I was given a complimentary copy of this from Barbour publishing and was not obligated to write a review.

My 3 year old granddaughter loves this book. When I read the stories to her, she doesn't want me to stop. The stories are each on one page, short, colorfully illustrated, and the Bible references given. The stories are told in chronological order and told in Bible language, which means the full story is told and uses the language of the Bible for children to understand. Enjoy with your kids or grand kids. It would make a great Christmas gift. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

This book is one that every family should have on their bookshelf! It shares 365 stories from the Bible, each colorfully illustrated. The stories are not excerpts from the Bible, they are explaining certain passages in layman's terms, so it is easier for children (and adults!) to understand. I think it is wonderful that there are so many stories in this book! Plus they each only take up part of a page, so they don't take a long time to read, and kids won't lose interest as easily. I also love the sturdy hardcover and the ribbon bookmark in the binding that lets you keep your place for the next time. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

This book has charming illustrations that will delight children and adults. It consists of short stories that cover a page or two, that begins with the story of creation and ends with our eternity with God. Each story will build your child's faith while keeping them engaged in the story. This book is recommended for ages 3 and up. I really loved how appealing this book is, it could also be used in Sunday school or read before naptime or any other reading time. This is a wonderful way to introduce children to God and to planting fruit in young hearts. This would also be a very nice gift. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and I am not under any obligation to post a review.

A wonderful book to share with children and grandchildren. The illustrations are beautifully done and the stories are written in a way that children can easily understand. For us, the stories tended to be a starting point for further discussion and parental bonding. I believe each family will easily be able to incorporate into their child's bedtime routine.

Great biblically based bible bedtime story book. This book has great illustrations and each day is focused on a bible verse. The stories to go along with the scripture are just the right length to keep the attention of children of all ages. I highly recommend this book and hope to share it with my grandchildren for years. 365 Classic Bedtime Bible Stories is the perfect book to start a child on their way to taking time from each day to study from the Bible. Starting from Genesis and ending with Revelations, this book takes the majority of the Bible and makes it easy for children to understand. The illustration in this book is beautiful. The pictures are so clear and colorful and will keep the younger child's attention while being read to. This is a great book for reading to the young child as well as a great book for the young reader . This is a hard cover book with thicker than normal paper to help with tears from normal use. The paper is shiny to help keep it clean. The illustrations go all the way to the edge of the pages so the different colors show when the book is closed. There are many things about this book that I really like. I like the bold font as it makes it easier to read. I like the index at the back to help the child find a specific person or event they are searching for. I love the red ribbon book mark. And, I like the very first page, being a page that the giver can write the child's name and date of presentation. This will make a very nice gift.

I enjoy Bible story books and I am always interested in new ones that come out. Most of the time the pictures are vibrant and welcoming and pulls you into the story and this one is no exception as it is done in a very simple cartoon like animated images. This Bible storybook is unique in that it is divided up into 365 stories that can be read throughout the year. They are only a page long and do not take long at all to read if it was read before bedtime or for a newer reader to get through the text on their own. It also is not so long that a child would lose interest, more likely they will want to continue on to the next one. I also like that this particular storybook includes some lesser known Bible stories in them, something I have not necessarily seen in other ones. All in all, this is a nice addition to the Bible storybooks and would make a lovely gift. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

This is a fantastic book of bible stories for small children. These tell the stories of the Bible in a way that children are going to be able to understand. I really like the illustrations also. I received a copy of this book from Barbour Publishing for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I am very impressed with this beautiful hardcover book that was inspired by Jessie Lyman Hurlbut's Story of the Bible. There are 365 Bible stories listed chronologically according to their order in the Holy Bible and each page features one Bible story with the Bible scripture referenced. I also appreciate that there is an index that lists the names and subjects mentioned in these stories and they are shown as either Old or New Testament entries. The illustrations by Alessia Girasole are visually appealing and the text has been written so that both young and middle readers will find them entertaining and easy to read. This book is suitable for children of all ages and my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter loves looking at the colorful pictures as I read the stories to her. I recommend 365 Classic Bedtime Bible Stories as the perfect book to introduce young people to God's Word! A Delightful Bedtime Bible Story Book For The Family This could be just the book you are looking to get for the family bedtime reading. The Story begins with Genesis and goes through Revelation. The illustrations are beautifully done and are on every page of the book. There is an index in the book if you wish to locate a particular Bible character, place or happening. The writer does an excellent job of telling the story from God’s word. Not too much on a page but enough to get the story told. I know just exactly which family I want to give this book to for Christmas. I highly recommend it. 365 CLASSIC BEDTIME BIBLE STORIES, is a beautiful hard bound book inspired by Jesse Lyman Hurlbut's Story of the Bible. The marvelously bold print can be easily read, and the book itself, any child would be proud to own. With the amazing vividly colored illustrations, it would also make a great Christmas gift for children and grandchildren everywhere. There is a whole year's supply of these wonderful stories. I know my youngest grandchild would love to own this book that tells about faith in the almighty God, and will also give any child the opportunity to take a far journey with unbelievable characters, and see what they saw. Feel what they felt. And live through the actions they lived. This fun book will give any child hours of enjoyment; plus it will also give that parent or grandparent some quality time with the family. To be able to read to that child and give that child something to dream on at night. I love the way the book opens with the creation and slowly takes you through, step by step, and shows each colorful picturesque scene of what is about to transpire. The stories are remarkable! A delightful learning experience for the whole family!! This book is a five star delight! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

What a beautifully illustrated book with such vibrant colors. Each page is a short Bible story in large text that is easy to read with a lovely picture that represents that story. It is simplistic for young children to understand the Bible, but I actually loved it myself. It would also be a great book for children learning to read on their own. This would make a wonderful gift for the favorite children in your life. I received a complimentary copy from Barbour Publishing. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.

This is an attractive devotional storybook for introducing young children to the Scriptures. Each page has a simple retelling of a Bible passage (notated), and a colorful illustration. Several stories are carried over into a second day. One unusual and helpful part of this book is a topical index, which enables readers to quickly find a particular person or subject. And there are quite a few topics you don't find in most Bible story books - Amaziah's idolatry, or the cities of refuge, to name a few. There are several places where I would have chosen a different, more accurate word. For example, when Daniel requests a different diet it says: "Please don't make me dishonor MYSELF," when he clearly sought GOD'S honor. Or the title of several pages about Jesus healing on the Sabbath - does He "IGNORE" or (more correctly) FULFILL the Sabbath? But overall, this is a high-quality book and would make a great gift for children three to ten years old. I was delighted to receive a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

This book is definitely a beautifully put together book. There are wonderful illustrations on each and every page. And, each story is short enough that it allows for the attention span of little ones, but still gives enough time to have little parental insights or discussions, if desires. I do like that each page and story has the corresponding scripture reference, so, parents can refer back for other details in a story. I like the idea of having something for every day. However, children at this age also like repetition. They will tend to have their favorite stories, and of course, it doesn’t have to be done with a different story each time. Who says you have to read the Bible in a year – you can choose to, or not to. I also like that it’s pretty much written in sequence to the Bible, so you can follow it like that, if you wish. It seems to be different than most “children Bibles” with so much more to offer. I would recommend this for parents with young children to help them be organized with not only their spiritual teaching, but a way to develop a bedtime routine. The index will also be a huge help with this. If they are looking for something specific you can find it quickly. I would recommend this book for parents (or grandparents) with young children. This is a wonderful book. It is top quality and very well done. This will be for a gift to my great-granddaughter for her mama and daddy to read to her. She already loves books and she is only 2 1/2. A whole year's supply of favorite Bible stories that can last for several years. I believe it could become a favorite for young children to want to hear over and over again. The illustrations and pictures are excellent, just right for a little one to like seeing. Some of the stories are about: Moses, Jonah, Hannah, Joseph, Esther, David, Mary and lots more! This is a great book to have! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

What a treasure for reading Bible stories to small children! 365 Classic Bedtime Bible Stories follows the Bible from Genesis through Acts with an ending from Revelation. Each story is prefaced by the scripture reference the story is drawn from and accompanied by animated pictures that children will love to look at as the story is read. The stories accurately tell and depict the same stories from the scriptures, simply making them easier to understand for the young folks. Both sad and happy stories are included in the order you would find them in the Bible. I believe many of these short stories would prompt questions from children, leaving an open door for parents to more fully explain the scriptures to their children according to what they find appropriate for their child's age and understanding. This sturdy, hard bound book can be cherished by families for many years as these timeless stories are passed down through the generations. As a pastor, I was interested in this book for my two grandsons (almost 4 & 6) and read several of the stories for my own review prior to giving it to my son and daughter-in-law. Both they and I enjoyed the way the book is designed and written. While no single book can completely cover all the Bible nor do so in a way that will be appropriate for all ages, this book does an excellent job of bringing out the main stories of Scripture for a fairly wide range of ages. Obviously, I did not read the entire book, but I believe this book is a wonderful resource. Gorgeous book and illustrations! I handed this book over to my daughter, to read to my 2 granddaughters. So, this review reflects how they feel about it. My granddaughters are ages 4 and 6. They really like the stories. According to my daughter, it's just like reading the regular Bible and it doesn't dumb it down. She says that it's perfect for the ages of her girls. These girls, all 3, are book lovers, so you can take their word for it. I flipped through the book before handing it over and I just love the vivid pictures and the fact that each day is a simple passage from the Bible....365 days reading through the entire Bible. “I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.”
