Book Description

Are you unhappy in your job? Are you tired of living paycheck to paycheck and feel like you just don't have enough money, skills, or education to turn your life around? Even if you're not sure you know what it is you like to do, you can change your life and get rich doing it, says entrepreneur Duane Harden in his wise and entertaining new book, 5 Easy Steps to Financial Freedom: Do What You Love & Get Rich Doing It.

Turning your passion into a profitable business is easy, fast, and fun, says Harden, and you can become rich in just five easy steps. First, start by saying yes to financial freedom. Attitude is everything and as the Law of Attraction states, what you put out into the universe is often what you attract. If you imagine yourself financially secure and happy, you will be. Imagining a new life for yourself is the inspiration you need to go out and do the concrete things to turn your dreams into a reality.

Conversationally written and filled with humorous drawings, helpful worksheets, and key tips, 5 Easy Steps to Financial Freedom also offers a 90-day action plan that includes blueprints for success that Harden himself used to build his wealth. His own journey included the purchase of numerous real-estate properties, opening a restaurant, starting a music company, and much more. Harden gives you "Life Assignments" that get you thinking and acting differently. Beware of what he calls the "crabs in a pot" mentality, where everyone is trying to pull everyone else down in order to struggle to the top. Instead, he advises, think positively. Stay away from the naysayers and feed your dream. Soon you will realize that your inner life is reflected in your outer life.

Harden helps you to discover the real you, what you want, and how much money you want to be there for you now and in the future. He explains how the real difference between rich people and poor people is fear and an unwillingness to keep an open mind to new opportunities. Rich people are not afraid to take risks, and well-planned risks almost always pay off. Success, he reminds you, is your birthright and it's your job to claim it.

Review your credit and your financial house. Clean up the clutter in your life, whether it is the wrong way of thinking or a messy desk. Discover what really makes you tick because when you love what you do it's never really work, and when passion is present the money will miraculously follow. Keep daily positive reminders taped where you can see them, or even have a vision board filled with photographs of where you want to be in life. Write your resignation letter to your boss, but don't send it yet. Just the act of writing it puts you in the right frame of mind for moving on to something much better. "You are what you think and will become what you dream," says Harden.

You'll learn to be a PIG (passive income generator) Farmer, which requires little work but makes you tons of money. 5 Easy Steps to Financial Freedom shows you how go from rags to riches and is understandable and easy to read. This invaluable guide will change your life!

Many books have been written about how to make money doing what you love. This book reduces the process to just five steps. Before anything else, you have to commit to changing your life. Don't just say it; you also have to mean it. Write a Creed, or other inspirational saying, and post it someplace where you can read it every day. Some people, knowingly or unknowingly, will try to discourage you, convinced that you are going to fail. Limit your exposure to such people. What are you passionate about? What do you love doing? That is where you should look for income-generating ideas. Don't get into, for instance, real estate investing because all those infomercials have convinced you that you will be instantly rich. Do it because you want to do it. Get a copy of your credit report and credit score. If your score is Average or Poor, work now on fixing it. The book talks about using OPM (Other People's Money) to finance your venture. A bank, or other lender, will have a hard time approving your loan request if your credit score is just Fair. It's normal to want to plan and plan and plan, removing all possible obstacles before starting your income-generating plan. You may just over-analyze yourself right out of a great business opportunity. At some point, you have to Just Do It (to quote Nike). If things don't work out, pick yourself up, regroup, and start over. You need to register your venture as a separate business entity (like an S Corporation or an LLC) with the state and federal governments. If for no other reason, do it to reduce your personal liability should someone get injured on the premises. You can't do this alone, so you need a team behind you. Start with a CPA and an attorney who specializes in real estate investing, or whatever your venture entails. The book also explores what to do when the time comes to sell your venture (your CPA says that you have gotten all the tax benefits you are going to get, or you decide that it is time to retire). This is an excellent book, written by someone who has been through the process. It is easy to read, and full of information. The hardest part is to convince yourself that Now is the time. This book shows the reader how to do everything else.

This book is finally out ! I've known the author personally for almost 2 years now and since then he has taken me from financial chaos and rank and file to creating my own opportunities. working for myself, starting my own business, being asked to consult and taking the helm for a non-profit startup. Attending one of world's top 10 learning institutions, I learned a lot about culture, art, social sciences, psychology, statistics, history, comparative literature, hell I wrote a second thesis in school because I could. When I graduated in 2010, during one of the low points in the job market, I found myself under-employed at a corporate, doing freelance work, and spending my weekends as a bar back and bartender just to break even on my bills. In addition, I was completely ignorant to personal finance and didn't have a clue that what I was doing was completely toxic to my health, balance sheet and future success. Meeting Duane for one hour, he opened up my eyes and my mind to some basics on personal finance that I was just never educated on, showed me strategies for how I can stop working to pay my bills, but to reduce or eliminate liabilities safely and without damaging my credit, and really begin to build a healthy, sustainable future where I was my own boss. In the last 2 years my balance sheet has grown substantially in almost every aspect, income, real estate, personal savings, investments, business and I now I have the flexibility to work almost whenever I choose or not work if I choose not to.

I've gotten to know the author Duane Harden through his group meetings in NYC. The knowledge he's amassed over the years, that he's been able to put into this book, is amazing. Moreso, he truly wants others to be inspired to find the same happiness he's achieved, realistically. I believe that for anyone who's ever had the thought that they are either tired of the 9 to 5 drag, or wondered if they can go more with their life, what Mr. Harden says in this book will give you a new method, a new alternative to view life, success, and how to "get after it". I highly recommend this read.

I am a young real estate investor with two properties. I became frustrated, for I was averaging one property per year. However, I didn't know where I can get the acquisition funds needed for the down payment on my next deal. After reading this book, I discovered how to turn my passion into profits. So, I created a small business to raise money for my third rental property. If you have questions that need answers in regard to becoming financially free, then this book is for you.

I must say that Duane Harden's book is an inspiration. The book is a short read and gets straight to the point. I like how he mentions that negative people are like crabs. You have to see if you have crabs around you because the old story goes that crabs pull down other crabs. If you're trying to get rich, it's very important to eliminate as many crabs around you as possible. They can suck the energy right out of you.

This book was easy to read and is definitely a must for anyone looking to take a leap towards financial freedom. This book not only provides a roadmap to getting started and accomplishing financial goals, it challenges you to take action. Investing is approached from a logical standpoint.

A solid read from start to finish! Duane has managed to put many years of hard work, dedication, and most important, experience into this fantastic read. Many books put a lot of fluff and are outdated in which case you simply cannot relate to the material. I can assure you that this book is designed to create a customized game plan that caters to your financial needs. You are able to participate in multiple exercises that if done, will get you one step closer to your financial freedom. I would know, I did it myself!
