Overview

Casper Covington had his music, women, and pretty much anything he wanted at his disposal. But the one thing that plagued his thoughts constantly was the one thing he couldn’t have. The girl he met six months ago. A drunken one night stand that he couldn’t get out of his head. The only thing he remembered from that night was her green eyes and the ivy tattoo that stretched the length of her body. In his attempts to put an end to the tortuous dreams of the mysterious girl, Casper’s attention is caught by the new bartender. There’s just something so familiar about her that his need to get to know her becomes more troublesome than he expected.

Alexis Radcliff was raised by her four brothers making her as tough as nails on the outside but on the inside she wanted what every girl did – someone to love her, faults and all. She would be damned if she admitted that out loud and made a point to show she could use men just as easily as they used women. But when a sexy musician starts to show interest in Alex she has a hard time convincing herself to stay away. Alex knows everyone has secrets but hers are ones she doesn’t want to share. But when she can no longer fight her feelings, her dark past slowly starts to unravel.
Can true love conquer all? Or are past ghosts a haunting premonition of what lies ahead?

An amazing story that delivers wonderfully complex characters that embrace the challenges thrown at them by life. Casper and Alexis appear to rub each other the wrong way when they first meet but really, they are way to similar which creates more tension than normal. Their best friends begin dating which puts them together in a lot of situations so they decide to make peace for their friends. Of course, the more time they spend with each other, the more they end up liking each other. I really appreciated how this relationship took time to develop which made the journey so much more fun to experience. Alexis is one tough woman having been raised by 4 brothers. This family unit made me smile as they supported each other but also knew how to give each other grief when needed. Casper's family isn't this wonderful. He's lived through several divorces/marriages by his father which sends him down a path to avoid commitment. I loved how Alexis pushes all of his buttons and really forces him to look at life from a new perspective. Alexis also needs to face down some demons to truly allow herself to embrace what she has with Casper. The layers to Alexis' story and how it intersects with Casper's is beautifully crafted. This story will have you laughing and crying and not wanting to put it down.

From the very first page I really loved this story. I immediately loved the characters and couldn’t get enough of this story. Although Casper is really kind of a man-whore I really liked him. He has a lot of humor and soon you find out he is really a sweet guy. Although he makes some stupid decisions he really cares about Alexis and he just wants to see her happy. Casper really needs to work hard for Alexis and I must say I really loved how he tried to make her see him. I also really liked Alexis. To the out sight world she is this really tough girl, but the truth is she is just scared of losing more people see loves. I loved how Alexis took care of too touchy guys. The things she would do to these guys really made me laugh. And to be honest I was kind of jealous of Alexis and the relationship she has with her four brothers. They are all really close and I loved reading about them. Not only is this book really amazing, I also loved the cover. This cover is just a little dark but also very romantic. The same way this book is. So a great cover choice I must say. This book is definitely going on my way favorite list. And to be honest I don’t really get why this book isn’t on a bestseller list. I was completely hooked to this story from the moment I started it and even when I wasn’t reading I kept thinking about these characters. For everyone who loves books by Jamie McGuire, Nicole Williams, Jessica Sorensen and Colleen Hoover, you guys definitely need to put ‘500 days’ on your to-read list. I promise you don’t get disappointed!

Story line and plot was perfect, dialogue was very natural, fast paced and very emotional story. It made me cry, laugh and fall inlove at the same time. There are so many ups and down, conflict and happy memories as well. The author deliver, resolved and give justice to every conflict that the characters encountered. At first I got confused with their names, so many J's and C's, hopefully next time the author choose the name that is easy to remember. I love Casper's character, he is so lovable, sweet, kind and gentleman rolled into one.He is every woman's dream boyfriend while Alex I like her character too but sometimes I want to kick her because of her attitude towards Casper. She have an idea that Casper likes her so much but she did not want to accept it to herself. Great Job Jessica, hope you will write Jacob,Jaxson and Greyson story.

Alexis .... The hard as nails girl next door is really not what she wants you to see...she has a tough exterior don't mess with me attitude but Casper can see right through her walls ....but can Cas break down Alex's walls enough to let her feel, see and taste what real LOVE is or will his sexy rocker appearance cloud her judgement ?? Alex goes though some family issues and so does Cas but when the truth comes out about a family issue reading them both, not even mowing it, the whole feeling is how can Alex get past this, she doesn't want to feel anything or anyone but the more alcohol she consumes to make her forget the more she needs Cas until she wakes up and realized she did it again and she hates knowing she hurt him again....he needs some one that can give him there whole heart but her heart isn't whole and she has no trust in herself or anyone else for that matter ..... I have to say this book made me laugh so hard sometimes I couldn't catch my breath or cry so hard I couldn't see the words in the page.....I hate to put more words down here to give to much away because this book is that good !! You will not want to put it down because the roller coaster ride that you willl take with be so worth the ride !!

Whew! That was a long one! They had one night together. One night of mystery. One night of bliss. He never forgot that tattoo. She never forgot those eyes. Alexis and Casper have a love/hate relationship. There were times I felt like I was watching a tennis match and instead of a little green ball being hit back and forth, I was reading about these two slinging insults back and forth. One minute they're in bed all lovey dovey and in the next minute, they're fighting. Again. Alex is the girl whose parents weren't around. I won't spoil that part so that's all I'm going to say on that matter. Her oldest brother Jack was tasked with picking up the pieces to that mess and trying his best at raising her and her other 3 brothers. Yet somehow Alex grew up with a chip on her shoulder. Her character came across as rude and immature. But underneath all that was a broken girl just wanting to be fixed. Casper didn't come from the best home either. His father was married to his next trophy who was younger than Casper's oldest sister. With a dysfunctional family like that, do you really blame him for all the booze and the revolving door of women? And he could be just as immature and rude as Alex. When they realize they past they shared, not much is said about that one night they had together. Difficult pasts are brought up, but not much else. Most of this relationship is about getting over their immaturity, hypocrisy and rudeness. Basically growing up! The storyline was excellent! The writing had some grammatical errors throughout the book and with a little more editing work, these changes could make this story even better. But either way, the author kept me intrigued. And in the last 20% (ish), she had me in tears. Throughout the story, one plot would fizzle out and another one sprang up adding more depth and background to this relationship. Which is a change from the new adult books that are currently out there. The supporting characters were very well developed. They were confusing at times because I could never figure out whose side they were on. They always seemed to switch from one chapter to the next. This book might be twice as long as what most new adult books currently are, but it's worth it. *I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

This is a marathon of a book. I feel like I've read a series because so much has happened. I liked all of the characters. I liked all the Covingtons and all of their 'C' names and the Radcliffe boys with all the 'J' names. I wasn't confused by it at all and actually was very connected to most of this story. I didn't mind the back and forth POVs and loved the closeness of the Alex's family. Having grown up with four brothers makes for an interesting girl in Alex. She's really a tough cookie, but we find that mostly she is afraid love will be lost and she will be hurt. Casper has it all at his fingertips...and he takes advantage of it. However, for both of them there is 'the one' that seemingly got away. The relationships in this book are like ships out on the open ocean during a hurricane, but that is what makes the roller coaster ride so real. Turbulent feelings that are very strong make this a one more page type of book. ARC provided in exchange for honest review.
