Meet the Author

Celine Steen is the founder of the award-winning blog Have Cake, Will Travel. After more than a decade of vegetarian eating, she decided to switch to a vegan lifestyle. Fearing it might mean the end of all good desserts, she decided to start making her own, for lack of ready-made and affordable options offered in her hometown.

 

Joni Marie Newman is author of Cozy Inside: Delicious and Comforting Cruelty-Free Recipes and Just the Burgers: 101 Home Made Veggie Burgers. She is also the founder of the blog Just the Food.

The first time I looked through this on my Nook I bookmarked so many pages it was ridiculous. :) I should just go page by page and make everything. It may sound so simple, but the taco seasoning recipe is my favorite! I love to mix it with Tofutti cream 'cheese' and spread it on a tortilla, and roll it up. Fast cheap and delicious! I never tried making taco seasoning powder before, I would buy the packets. Never again!

While the book lacks illustrations it more than makes up for it with the volume of good tasting simple recipes. A very nice cookbook.

500 Vegan Recipes is a comprehensive guide to creating delicious meals for today's vegan family. This is a phenomenal no-nonsense book filled with comfort foods made vegan. Celine Steen and Joni Marie Newman have outdone themselves with their creative versions of American classics. What a wonderful resource! I find this book extremely helpful and started implementing the tips right away. Not only does this book help me to learn how to prepare basic staple items in a vegan kitchen, it helps me do so without blowing my food budget! So far, everything I have made has been absolutely delicious and I can't wait to make some more recipes! The recipes are great and not difficult to prepare, and a wonderful addition to my cookbook collection. This book is a masterpiece and a must-have for every kitchen. Highly Recommended!
