Gary is originally from Northern Utah, born and raised in the Bear River Valley. He spent his summers working on the family farm, for farmer and ranchers or horseback.
Offered scholarships in Agriculture and Advertising Design, he opted for the bright lights and big city. Eight years in the advertising profession convinced him that wasn't where he wanted to be. Gary has also worked as a ranch manager, cowboy, pen rider, horse trainer, newspaper columnist, graphic designer and illustrator. Active in the Idaho Writers League, he is also a former president of the Western Art Guild.
Gary has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Great Britain and the United States. He and Margie reside in Twin Falls, Idaho and are the parents of four children and have nine grandchildren.
