Lucy Richardson is a very determined lady. When her true love, Finnegan Taggart, is forced to leave her, she doesn't give up. She believes that he will return one day, but years have passed. Then she learns where he is. Lucy plans to confront Finn. She travels to Charlotte to see him. She doesn't understand why he won't acknowledge their past. What hold does Philip Halford have on Finn? What is she to do about the hate mongers who threaten her school? Michelle McLean continues the Blood Blade Sisters with this gripping story. The characters are well written. This feisty heroine has meet her match. Finn is a strong, honorable man who won't back down. The sexual tension between these two is very heated. Philip Halford is evil incarnate. The action and suspense are riveting. I couldn't put the book down until I knew that Lucy was safe. This is such a great story.

This is the third book in the series, and while it stands alone as a story, I did feel like a missed a lot.  It refers several times to incidents that I assume occured in previous books.  It didn't take away from the story, but it did leave me feeling like I missed out on something. Lucy and her sisters are not your typical women of the time.  As ex-bandits, they have much more spunk and aren't afraid to say what they want and stand up for themselves.  Lucy shows this perfectly when she leaves town for the south to find the love of her life, Finn.  She hasn't seen him since before the Civil War, at least seven years has gone by.  Finn ran from Lucy not because he didn't love her, but because he didn't want her involved with the bad people he was associated with. This is a book about fighting for who you love and what you want.  I loved Lucy - expecially when she had a shotgun in her hands.  She seemed fearless - but deep inside she knew that she really needed Finn to complete her.  But her push to bring Finn back in only drags her deeper into the realm he was trying to keep her from to begin with.  There were a few times I wasn't sure if Lucy would be about to get out of the trouble she found herself in.  This book wrapped quite an adventure into the romance and it meshed very well.

A thrilling continuation of the Blood Blade Sisters Series! With lots of action and drama, this book does not disappoint and is everything you’ve come to expect from the Blood Blade Sisters! Michelle McLean will keep you riveted from start to finish! When Lucy Richardson falls in love, she falls hard. Even after 7 years, she still hasn’t forgotten Finn and when she learns of his whereabouts, she takes off to North Carolina to remind him of their love. But as much as Finn loves Lucy he isn’t about to put her in danger, and danger is all around. If Finn had his way, he’d send her right back north, but Lucy is, after all, a Richardson, and there is no moving her until she’s ready. Determined to stay close to Finn, Lucy makes friends and decides to build a school for the recently freed blacks. But in the war torn south, not everyone agrees that they should be educated and Lucy is quickly making enemies, big ones. When Lucy starts receiving threats, she does what any Blood Blade Sister does, and starts pushing back. As Finn tries to protect her from the ones who wish her harm, he finds he can no longer deny the love that is between them. Unfortunately, events occur that force them to remain apart. Can Finn save her from the storm that’s brewing or has this sister finally found an enemy that’s too big? I absolutely loved this book!! Its witty humor, fast paced plot, and sweet romance will keep you turning page after page. Another well written, entertaining novel by Michelle McLean. This one may be my favorite of the Blood Blade Series, though it’s rather hard to say one is better than the other! If you’re looking for action, drama, suspense, and a little romance, then don’t miss this book! It’s a great stand-alone read, but warning, once you read this one, you’re going to want to catch up on the other two novels in this series! Lucy’s character was everything I imagined it would be; true to her impulsive nature, and kind hearted through and through. I was so happy to see her and Finn find a happy ending and even more thrilled that all the sisters were able to return home to the ranch at the end. A wonderful read, and a series I will read again and again! Rating: 4.5 Heat Rating: Sweet Reviewed by AprilP Courtesy of My Book Addiction and More
