A conservative American Muslim and former U.S. Navy lieutenant commander provides an alternate voice to radical Islam.Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser is a unique individual: a devout Muslim and patriotic American who recognizes the potentially dangerous elements of his own religion. In A Battle for the Soul of Islam, he offers a way for Muslims to dismantle the radical element of Islam—exposing the malaise of Islamic supremacists, showing how their philosophy, terrorism, and push for worldwide law threatens to undermine the very foundations of secular nations throughout the Western world.
Jasser embraces his faith and his country with equal fervor, and he is not afraid to decry draconian, misogynist Shar'iah law that mandates beheadings and stonings for such crimes as apostasy and adultery. Dr. Jasser asks the tough questions about radical Islam, suggesting Muslims separate mosque and state, thus paving the way for moderate Islam to take hold.
Indispensable, thought-provoking, and highly informative, A Battle for the Soul of Islam is a must-read for the millions of people who want to understand how Muslims can defeat radical Islam, and create Middle Eastern governments devoted to principles of liberty and human rights.
