This book is Christian fiction. It is 710 pages and all but 10 of them are story related. It is pretty preachy. Another reviewer said it was not, so I guess it depends on the reader's perspective. There are quite a few left out words and any form of the word smirk, seems to be one of the author's favorite. The storyline is good, the character's likable, the animals lovable. This story has no sex, cursing, violence or mystery. It is about an unwed mother and a Christian man finding love. Ages 16 and up. AD

Yes, this is Christian fiction. Since there are 67 til now reviews, I wonder what the readers who didn't care for the religious side think a Christian novel would be like? Just no cursing, sex, or violence? The purpose of Christian fiction is to weave a lifelike story around Christian values and how it affects the characters. Also, Mr. Sanderson showed a great amount of various knowledge in this story. I for one enjoyed the sidebars. Want to read more!

What a wonderful book. The author's characters are so fully human and personable. The theme of looking past the exterior wrappings of a person stayed with me the whole time I was reading the book and it evrn inspired some great conversation with friends. This romance is clean but not sappy or sacharine. The faith of the characters is authentic, not preachy. Wonderful book, wonderful author. I look forward to reading more of his work.

This was a very well written Christian romance. The characters were realistic and their journey towards each other and a better understanding of God's love and grace were inspiring. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a romance book with depth of characters and content.

Decent overall story but could easily be condensed to 300 or 400 pages by doing away with all the detail about main male characters job which became quite tiresome several times in the book. I'm not big on religion and although religion theme was part of book, I didnt feel it too "preachy" as other reviews opined. Did finish book, but skimmed many pages in doing so. Once again, due to micro descriptive writing style.

Flipped on past this several times....boring cover, wasn't interested in the preview. Took a chance on it though (it's free, right?) and very glad I did. Loved the story, grew to love the characters, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Christian theme...nice read! CherishD

This is the second free nook book I have read by this author, and although I had never heard of him before reading the other book, I would now recommend that anyone who enjoys clean, good stories read everything this author writes!

Really liked the story.  It all involves a promise made to one person who is unable to carry it out so he asks his brother to fulfill the promise.  I thought this was very noble of him until he meets the girl.  Do not let first impressions fool you.

I have had this book in my library for quite awhile, but kept skipping over it due to its length, but finally clicked on it to read. There were a few things that took away from the story for me, such as; the wealth of the main characters, the nobility titles, and the sappy terms of endearment toward the end of book. This was my first read by this author, have added him to my favorite writers list.

This book was very long but kept me engaged at every turn. It is set in Canada, which I am sure I missed some of the references because I am American, but the story was very good. JUDGE NOT lest ye be judged...I love a happy ending! Read the book - you will be hapy with the authors style, charecter development and twists of the plot.

Good book. It felt nice to read a book that wasn't solely about sex. I'd recommend it to someone else

Almost "old English" in prose: a long wait wading through the story i dont know if its worth it

Great characters, nice storyline, no violence or detailed sex. Some parts were to detailed and could have been condensed with same effect. Some other reviews said it was too religious, but I feel the author did good job showing how true believers in Christ should behave. Being religious and being a Christian are NOT the same. So I say, well done Bill :)
