I bought this book for my 6-year old daughter. When we read it together, my daughter asked me a lot of questions, such as about the different street views, about the toy that the boy was playing with and about what is fair and what is not fair... She really enjoyed the illustration in the book and the entire story. She especially enjoyed playing the role of the judge to whack the gavel while making the sound "Bam, bam, bam" and enjoyed having some coins in her own hands to mimic the sound of clinking and clanking that the characters in the story were making. She also loved the cross-curricular teaching activities about five senses, the activities are so much fun for her that I had to make her put down the book. It's definitely a great book for curious young readers. It's also a good book for the parents to introduce another culture to their children.

I had a good time reading this book together with my daughter. I'm originally from China but my daughter was born and raised here. The pictures of buildings and people in the book represents typical Chinese scenes, so I am glad that she got to see what China is like from the book. The story is interesting to read, not boring at all, both of us were surprised and happy to see the ending. In addition, the book has some fun cross-curricular teaching activities that's good for my daughter, so it's a plus. We'll recommend this book to anybody who wants a good book, or anybody who's interested in Chinese culture.
