Overview

Irish soprano Méav Né Mhaolchatha gained no small notoriety with her spellbinding work with the Celtic choir Anúna; her leading roles in Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance and Bill Whelan's Riverdance; and of course, as a featured soloist with the international phenomenon Celtic Woman. Celtic Journey is steeped in this kind of romantic, New Age vision of Ireland, as it is a mix of traditional material such as "She Moved Through the Fair," warhorses such as "Danny Boy" and a lilting version of "Silent Night," and atmospheric numbers such as "Celtic Prayer." Her ethereal voice is perfectly suited to these slick productions, offering fans of Celtic Woman very much what they would expect: impeccably rendered, stage versions of classic material. Massed choirs, electronics, and languid musical interludes make Orla a natural successor to the hit show.

Her voice is haunting and sends you to another world. A great representative of the breathtaking beauty and elegance of Celtic music. Also recommend her 2000 CD.
