About the Author

Ruth Ann Nordin has written seventy romances, ranging from Regencies to historical westerns to contemporaries. She plays with other genres from time to time, but her first love is romance. She has been happily married for eighteen years to a sweet and funny guy, and they have four sons, who are all taller than Ruth now that they're 12, 13, 14, and 16. The good thing is she doesn't need a ladder, and there's always someone to take care of a mouse that squeezes its way into her Montana home. She considers herself very lucky to have led such a charmed life. Being able to play with characters and create stories is just icing on the cake. Hopefully, she'll get to keep doing this many years to come.

The biggest part of this book was okay. The last dozen pages turned out to be X-Rated. I'm truly sorry that I downloaded the book. The X-rated portion of this book was not necessary to the story.

This was not aPG book rating! Wish the author didn't feel the need to be so grafic! It is very possible to write a good story without going overboard (Lynn Kurland does this well) Sorry I downloaded this.

This is the first book by this author that I read. It was a little disappointing in that I feel like she rushed to get to the end of the story. It was a quick read. I feel she could've spent a little more time developing the characters. The ending was a total shocker in how graphic she got.

I was taken in with this book. Loved reading it, right up until the ending when i was blind sides by a very graffic scene! Really should of given the reader some notice.

I like this book. Quite interesting. Not a big fan of romance novels but this one is good.

It was a nice little short story, but it has a very innapropriate part at the end...i thought it ruined the rest of the story and was unneccesary. But skip that part and it's a cute story, although i am deleting it from my nook because of the ending.

Short, but cute

This story started great and had nice pacing until the end. It seemed almost as if the author got bored and rushed to finish.

I loved this book. So what if it got into a few too many details of their physical relationship? These people are married and it is a perfectly natural and healthy thing. Also, if that upsets you, you should basically stay away from every single adult romance out there. Get over it. It's not something that isn't seen everyday on the television or in movies. Seriously. Clearly none of you people went to a public high school. This book is sweet and  the physical relationship between the two main characters at the end represents a beautiful rebirth of the two main characters. Cole is finally willing to see how beautiful love can be after his previous experiences. And Penelope finally can return her faith and trust to someone who will do everything in his power to make her more comfortable and never hurt or leave her. This "graphic scene", as it was so eloquently put, is a great demonstration of how an author is saying more than what is written on a page. You have to look deeper.  Ruth Ann Nordin is a master of an author and I'm pretty sure most of these people who have written poor reviews aren't famous authors, who have their books published. Who are they to attack Ms. Nordin? What gives them the credentials? This book was really good, and goes deeper than "just another sex-filled book".

I like this book for the old timey romance. This book is not one which will grab your heart and jerk it along. However! It will give you a glimpse into the 1800's and faithful romance.

Enjoyable story. Predictable. I didnt think the sex scene was offensive, but I dont get offended easily. Good novella and it was free!

A Chance in Time by Ruth Ann Nordin Time Travel Series Book 2 You will definitely want to read Meant to Be first to fully understand what is happening in this book. In the first book Cole Hunter steals a time machine gadget he helped create, his life was going down the tubes and he wanted to go back in time, get some gold and be back to replace the gadget by Monday. Only his co-worker found out and four people end up in Fargo, ND 1898. This book begins where Penelope, a widow living alone in the middle of nowhere, finds Cole almost dead. He had been running from Blake and had swam some ways in the water. Between swallowing the water and sunburn, he is burning with fever. Not wanting to lose another man, as she did a year ago when her husband Randy died, she is determined to save Cole. He recovers and helps her around the homestead but he must get to Fargo to find the missing chip and go back to the future. Penelope assumes he must have a wife somewhere. She knows Cole cares for her but he was determined to leave. Meanwhile, she ends up taking a young Indian woman home with her. She helps Martha learn some English and delivers her baby. This connects to the Native American Series in some way. This book was short and just tying the ends together for Penelope and Cole story. **Sensual situations within marriage.

Ruth Ann Nordin's books are really hit and miss. The concept of this book was already a bit far fetched, but it wasn't made believable at all. The "romance" part of the book was fine. The characters were fairly well developed, but nothing that lept out at me.

People are making too much out of the scene at the end. It is Not X rated. Its doesn't quite fit with the rest of the book, but it is normal for a romance. Most romances these days are much more graffic. Compared to those this one is G rated. If u want a book with no sex scene, then read steeple hill. I would recommend this one.

I loved this book!!! The only part I didn't like was the last dozen pages. It was very inapproprate for young readers. I don't recommend young children reading this book. But besides the end, I loved it!! It is a great, cute story. Great detail. This woman is a great author!
