This fast-paced story follows three teenagers as living in the town of Shire Rock as they are pitted against each other in a cutthroat battle for the ages. Each of these adolescents, Lebron, Garcia, and Jack, come from very different walks of life; Lebron is the middle child of a struggling family torn apart from divorce; Garcia is the daughter of a local celebrity, and is constantly left in her shadow; Jack is a homeless orphan, trying to find direction in his aimless life. Yet despite their different backstories, they all share the same mission: to obtain a precious and invaluable ring, coveted by many. Even though the book was written when the author was merely twelve years old, the story poses deeply philosophical question s about the true worth of materialism, as the three protagonists all try to find some sense of fulfillment through their epic pursuit.
