I loved this book as a child, and really do give it as a gift quite often. It's fun to read to a young child, and for them to read later on their own. This edition has the best illustrations, don't settle for any other!

I used to read the full copy to my nieces. When my daughter was born, I searched for another full copy. Only the board book was available at the time so I bought it, figuring the highlights were better than nothing. I'm still buying the full copy because some of my favorite verses aren't included in this version. But a great start if you haven't read this before. And the board book format is a hit with the little ones.

I have a copy of this book (The full version) that was printed in around 1916, it is falling apart at the bindings because of being read so much. A lot of the reading was before my time, but a lot was after as well. I am twenty now, and I still enjoy reading this book. My mother read it to me before I could read it myself. I have quite a few of the poems memorized, and I look forward to reading this to my neice and my children when I have my own. Buy this book and read it to little ones of all ages, it is wonderful and amazing.

I love to give this particular book as a baby gift because it's beautifully and colorfully illustrated, it's just the right size, and it has some of the world's most loved children's poems. The baby's - and parent's - appreciation for the book grows as the child does, and there is more for him or her to notice.

Like others here, I love this book; I began reading it to my son when he was an infant. It's my favorite thing to give to a new baby. I have at least 35 copies of it, including a very fine Jessie Willcox Smith illustrated one - - I even have the Dover coloring book. I think it a perfect gift for a new baby, in fact that's why I'm here.

I love these poems but the back binding was crumpled. I did not notice this until I had already given it to my granddaughter.

I bought this as a gift for an adult collector. I consider it a classic and therefore collectible for any bibliophile.
