A Christmas Kiss marks my first time reading Susan Halter. If all of her books are like this, then she definitely has a new fan. The cover for A Christmas Kiss drew me in and well, I might have forgotten to read the blurb and see what the book was about. Sometimes going in blind makes for a good story. You as a reader don’t have a preconceived idea of what’s going to happen or what should happen. You just read the story for what it is. Harper Avery and Gabriel Hart are both divorce attorneys, working and living in Blue Moon Bay, California. Though they are both attorneys, they each have different ideas on marriage and love. Harper doesn’t believe in true love and looks at marriage like it’s a contract. Gabriel believes in love, marriage, and second chances. The two first meet as opposing counsel in a divorce proceeding. When Gabriel’s client asks his wife for a second chance, Harper is skeptical, but Gabriel reminds her that people make mistakes and that everyone deserves a second chance. To say Harper isn’t happy by this turn of events is an understatement. Christmas is approaching and the plans they each had to spend with their families fall through. They each receive word from a friend that a mountain cabin is available. Too bad that said friends are married to each other and failed to communicate that they plan on offering the cabin to their individual friends. Harper arrives at the cabin to find Gabriel there and tries to convince him that he should leave. When he refuses, Harper has no choice but to stay and share the cabin with him. Neither expect that this time away will make them see the other in a new light or fall in love. But Christmas is a time for love and a Christmas kiss can and will be the best kiss of all. A Christmas Kiss is a sweet romance, and while it is the fifth book in the Kissed by the Bay series, it is a standalone read. Now it’s time for me to read the rest of the series. **Received a copy from the publisher and reviewed the book voluntarily.**

Favorite Quotes: He’d seemed like the perfect guy from the start. He was ambitious and driven, with just enough playfulness to make him interesting. My dad used to tell me that Christmas is the perfect time to reset yourself, because an open heart willing to give love and second chances can change the world. My Review: A short and sweet Christmas read to wind down on Christmas Day seemed just the right thing to do, so I dived into a delightful little Susan Hatler story for the very first time, and after I surfaced I asked what was I waiting for? I’ve noticed her appealing and eye-catching book covers many times but had never picked one up before now. The writing was crisp, observant, engaging, easy to follow, and unfailingly entertaining. I will definitely be coming back for more.

A CHRISTMAS KISS by Susan Hatler. It is part of the Bay Series, but can be read alone. Her books are always delightful, and getting to know the characters. The plot and characters are very well done, in this story, with the added " how they met" . How two divorce attorneys , Harper is jaded, dubious, when a client says they want to try again. While Gabriel is all for second chances. Five days before Christmas the clients list seems to be growing, for Harper. A last minute cancellation, up in Lake Tahoe, finds them both there. Was it fate or friends that did this mixup.Neither one wants to leave, the fun and maybe romance will follow. Given ARC by Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

A Christmas Kiss, written by Susan Hatler, is book 5 of Kissed by the Bay series. Hatler takes us on a Christmas trip to Tahoe. Harper, a divorce lawyer, has to spend Christmas alone because her aunt has decided to do something different for the holiday. Gabriel, a divorce lawyer, has to spend Christmas alone because his widowed mother has finally remarried and is on a cruise with her new husband. What are the chances that these two lawyers who work on cases against each other will end up renting a place in Tahoe together?! Loved how Hatler writes it in person by way of Harper's pov. Love first person stories! Loved how developed the characters are for a novella. Loved that it was a Christmas romance and clean at the same time. Fun read that I would recommend anyone that wants a quick Christmas romance to entertain a chilly evening. I was given a copy of this book by the author. All thoughts and opinions in this review are all my own.

I adore this series and each book can stand alone. Harper is a divorce attorney with a somewhat bitter attitude towards love and marriage, with good reason. The opposing counsel on her most current case is hottie, Gabriel, who is positive and believes in second chances. A misunderstanding lands both of them at the same cabin for the Christmas holiday. In a style reminiscent of a Hallmark Christmas movie, the sparks and chemistry between these opposites ignites into a sweet and festive story. I like to think I'm a fairly positive person, although I do have my moments, so it was hard not to be frustrated with Harper's uptight ways. I wanted her to unwind and go with the flow and as the story progressed, she did loosen up a bit. Gabriel is very chill and I think they're a good balance for each others personalities. The romance is very quick, almost instant, but it totally works for me in this book. Sometimes those sparks flame up into something more with the magic of the holidays. Although this book is short, less than 100 pages, it feels complete and has all of the elements of a great story. If you like clean Christmas romances, you're sure to love this one. Content: mild romance (swoony kissing) *I received a copy from the author with no obligation to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*

A Christmas Kiss by Susan Hatler is another novella in her Kissed by the Bay series. Ms. Hatler never disappoints me when it comes to a fun and well rounded story. Her characters are always well developed and the scenery descriptions make me feel like I am right there. The plot is well paced and I felt like I really got to know both Harper and Gabriel as they got to know each other. They are both strong characters but still flawed and yet easily likeable. They are both divorce lawyers but they approach their cases from totally different view points. This may sound like the typical "opposites" attract trope but it's so much more than that as Ms. Hatler leads the reader into their history and their hearts. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Hatco Publishing. Thank you, Ms. Hatler, for allowing me to read this lovely Christmas story of second chances and love.
