It's 1991, and Georgia Vaughn has a problem; five drunken college kids were brutally murdered in an apartment on Oak Street, and having been ostricized by the Morgan Falls Police Department, her only resource is the lone survivor who was found unconscious and on the verge of dying from alcohol poisoning. But Eddie Delgado has no memory of that night, and apparently he has no address, no job, no relatives, and no history. What Eddie does have is a mysterious secret so horrific that his mind has squeezed it down to a subconscious hand twitch.
Detective Vaughn reluctantly goes undercover and agrees to allow mysterious Eddie Delgado to escort her into the dark and sometimes vulgar subcultures hidden on every college campus, subcultures even he isn't prepared to find. In the process, Eddie introduces her to his friends, his "Tribe," who accept her as one of their own. For the first time on a long time, Georgia isn't alone, and she underestimates how much her new friendships will affect her own principles as she and Eddie search for answers about the murders.
All the while, Georgia tries to uncover who Eddie Delgado really is, and the secret of the dark past he's unwilling to share even with himself. And as they descend through the moral rabbit hole in their search for the killers, her own principles are tested to the breaking point as she learns that people are never who they appear to be, including the person who's become more than just her best friend.

I almost didn't finish reading this book. When I started reading it some of the writing had me almost howling in annoyance it was so awkwardly wriiten. But after a while the writing tightened up, and the flow of the plot ramped up speed. Very imaginative and action packed. If you can get through the first fifty pages or so, you will not be disappointed. There are still quite a few grammatical errors, and you can tell the author has some blind spots on tenses (past tense of "lead" is "led" and "bursted" is incorrect.) All in all, due to the rough start and writing errors I would give this book 3 1/2 stars. Better than a lot of the free offerings out there, but not topnotch either.
