Court Burback has written for a wide range of magazines, pop culture websites, and even "adult snuggle story" publications. She's the author of A COUPLA SHADES OF TAUPE, an off-the-rails FIFTY SHADES OF GREY parody selected as a top pick by Underground Book Reviews. After a recent health diagnosis brought her life to a grinding halt, she decided to turn her frustration into dark comedy with the online comic series Fork Meet Socket. The autobiographical comic series features snarky pastel bunnies reenacting her triumphs and humiliations (but Cathy it ain't). Check it out at forkmeetsocket.com.
A Coupla Shades of Taupeby Court Burback
Pagan Taupe is the wealthiest man in all of Arkansas. He’s got everything. The only thing that’s missing is a whiny young codependent named Alexandra
A romantic, tender tale of blossoming emotions and hardcore schtupping. 50 SHADES OF GREY doesn't come close to reaching the literary heights of A COUPLA SHADES OF TAUPE. A Pulitzer is inevitable.
Pagan Taupe is the wealthiest man in all of Arkansas. He’s got everything. The only thing that’s missing is a whiny young codependent named Alexandra Aluminum. Pagan becomes obsessed with Alexandra at a level normally portrayed by Rob Lowe in Lifetime movies. But unlike Rob Lowe, Pagan doesn’t want to beat her with a tire iron and bury her beneath the town bridge—he wants to make her his live-in sex slave.
Alexandra takes the leap and agrees to be Pagan’s unquestioning “submissive,” and the two embark on a sexual journey that would make Gloria Steinem put a loaded gun to her temple.

This book actually had me laughing out loud. The humor reminded me of a really funny Family Guy episode.
A parody of Fifty Shades of Grey that is not only hilarious but also stylishly and skillfully executed. I attempted Fifty Shades out of sheer curiosity but found the writing absolutely unbearable - I made it about 25 pages in before finding myself disgusted that it was topping the charts. This, however not for everyone, was well done and I think anyone who read Fifty Shades and wasn't impressed or anyone planning on reading Fifty Shades should read this instead. I'm curious to see what this author does next!
Absurdly funny. There was something on every page that had me laughing or smiling, and the comedic timing was so good that it felt like I was zipping through a really funny movie. I never read 50 Shades of Grey (I know, I know, I'm the only girl in America that hasn't. Leave me alone!) but I don't think it affected my enjoyment of this parody. But if you've read 50 Shades of Grey you might get even more of a kick out of this. I don't normally like stuff this edgy, but the wit was so sharp and unique I was compelled to write my first B&N review and give A Coupla Shades of Taupe a shout out. I'd be thrilled to see more humor books by this author in the near future.
A must read especially if you like parodies
I would buy this if it weren't nook only, Jeez. Some of us like to read real books, not computer screens! I'm giving 5 stars because that's how BAD I want to read it!!! but I can't
