Overview

Narrated by Feyre and Rhysand, this bridges the events in A Court of Wings and Ruin and the upcoming novels in the series.

New in the #1 New York Times bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series, A Court of Frost and Starlight is a glimpse into the lives of Feyre and Rhysand as they begin to recover from the war that changed their world.

Feyre, Rhysand, and their close-knit circle of friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated — scars that will have a far-reaching impact on the future of their Court.

I love these characters and this series, but this installment was disappointing - more of an interlude than a story, with snapshots of the aftermath the war and its impact on the characters. But nothing really happens. It feels like a prologue to the next volume instead of a stand-alone book. I will wait eagerly for the next book in the series and will hope that it has more of a story to tell, as I am not ready to give up on these characters yet.

I was sad this book was such a let down since I had been waiting so long for it. It’s a great book none the less just missing the story line. The characters just move through out the story setting up for hopefully a more action packed and concluded 5th book. I felt like no questions I had at the end of the the 3rd book were answered in this book either. Here’s to praying the 5th is longer and better.

This felt like a filler stoy. Nothing was resolved and very little forward motion happened. Wished there would have been more to it.

I felt like this book filled a bit of a gap of what's yet to come in this story. I expected more, though. I am disappointed in how some of the characters are developing at a slow pace when it comes to their "love" relationships. I totally dislike Nesta and how everyone puts up with her attittude and not put her in her place. I also feel like the book could've been a bit cheaper, given that it was much shorter than the previous ones as well. This is my opinion. I still can't wait for the next one to come out!

I loved the story, but disappointed that I preordered, had hoped for more. Hopefully the next one will been a little more.

The reading was wonderful but the book was less than half of the first books of the series. I wasn't ready for it to be over.....

Why make us wait this long for 215 pages!!! Nothing happens in this book!!! And then the author has the nerve to make us wait for the next book!!!!! Save your money and rent it at the library in a few weeks!!!!

It was well written, but so much was left out. Overall, I feel like the book was rushed through and was a bit disappointed on how short it was compared to the other books....but strangely more expensive. I'm happy there is more to come after this, but I still want to feel complete with Feyre and Rhys just as much as the rest of the characters. Even the sneak peak given to us seemed to skip over so much! Maybe it's just me, but I care about the little things like Feyre and her art classes as well as her want for a child with Rhys. I also want to know what's going on with Elaine and her growth, but I am not keeping my hopes up for the future. Still one of my favorite series of all time, just disappointed.

She has done it again!!! And in no more than 215 pages! I couldn’t get through it fast enough and then when it was done my heart continued to pound. I can’t wait to see what she dreams up next and to read the epic conclusion to throne of glass come October! Congrats Sarah on another stunning installment and to your soon to arrive bundle of joy:)

This book was more of a checking in with the characters then a novel.

I LOVE this series. I counted down the days until this release. The day FINALLY arrived! I spent my $8.99 and got LESS THAN 200 pages. I loved the story line, but are you kidding? Now I have to wait AGAIN to complete a story that should have been in ONE BOOK. Shame on Ms. Maas.....but I will buy the next one too.

I was disappointed in the whole plot of this book. I loved the first book, A Court of Thorns and Roses, but everything since then has lacked the adventure I seek from fantasy series.

I just wanted to write this review because I saw that the star ratings for this was falling and I can’t understand why. I have read this book now three time and each time is as good as the last. I don’t know why anyone would give this book a low rating. I love this series so much and am so glad that this book was written. Sarah J. Mass has a gift and I’m so glad that she continues to share it with the world. I have bought all but one of the books that she has written and I am always amazed by her writing skills ( I plan on reading that book soon). If you are the type of person who loves romance and magic this book is for you.

Good quick read. Just a novella so kinda leaves you wanting more.

Disappointing after reading the the first three books. Like other reviewers have said, there's not much plot in this book. It's a nice glimpse into the characters "normal" lives, but otherwise this is just a bridge to future books.

Outstanding series of fantasy and family. Could not have been written any better.

I love this series, but I am disappointed it was so short. I thought for sure that 150 pages in there would be some mysterious development that left a cliffhanger for the next book. However there was an excerpt in the end that kind of told us what the next book was going to be about, so I guess for timeline purposes there couldn't necessarily be a cliffhanger at the end of this book. Either way I did enjoy it while it lasted, and still a huge fan of Sarah. Can't wait for the next!

The war with Hybern has ended and now the city of starlight must be rebuilt. Feyre is looking for her new purpose in this time of peace, as well as a way to create and find peace. Nesta, however, is more bitter and self-inflicted with loneliness than ever, and not even Cassian, whom she risked her life to save, can pull her out of the miserable life she’s chosen. Amren is also discovering what it means to be human, and to love a male, for the first time, which often leads to hilarious questions about mortal bodies. All stories converge on the winter solstice, a time for gifts, celebration, and new beginnings, as well as Feyre’s birthday. Her wish will become a new pursuit, along with a few others, as all the main characters enjoy a reprieve from war, to find out who they are and will become in the aftermath. A Court of Frost and Starlight is a cool breeze of Night Court air, and while contentions gurgle below the surface, it remains a deeper insight into a city, and a world, that dreams of peace, hope, and starlight.
