Overview

A CRAZY PASTOR'S WIFE: Wit and Wisdom from Saints and Scoundrels by Joyce Thrasher, Joseph Brown

This book highlights both the humorous side and the serious side of being a "Pastor's Wife". Joyce is still discovering the unique woman God created her to be. Her husband Donny is a retired Army Chaplain and Senior Pastor at The Grace Place. They have three boys, Chris, Zach, Noah, and three cats.
This book highlights both the humorous side and the serious side of the many challenges Joyce faced while remaining "honest and real" in discovering the unique woman God created her to be. You'll read:
~Unbelievable stories about being a pastor's wife and serving in ministry with him.
~ Funny stories about how "church people" make Joyce's life fuller and more interesting.
~Hilarious stories about raising three boys and surviving the toddler and teen years.
~Revealing stories about life in a small southern town and so much more.
From reading about Joyce falling off the top of a refrigerator and overdosing Donny with cough syrup on a Sunday morning to the war of the roses during a worship service and a miracle that cured Joyce's son of an incurable disease.

Great book! Very funny, but also comes with some serious life-lessons. I loved the honesty and willingness of the author to expose her life, good and 'not so good', for the reader to see. Such open vulnerability is very refreshing and not often seen in today's Christian-themed books. I highly recommend it to women and men. If you ever wondered what kind of things go on behind the scenes sometimes in churches and pastors' families, read this book. You will love it!
