Since being cursed with unique abilities, Celia Wird and her three sisters have fought the most bloodthirsty preternaturals in the Lake Tahoe region. But Celia’s greatest threat is someone she would have never suspected: Anara, a werewolf Elder who has allowed his hatred for Celia to spiral out of control. In a play for dominance, Anara tortures Celia and gives her an ultimatum: sever her mate bond with pureblood were Aric—or Anara will kill everyone she loves.
From the instant they met, Celia and Aric have shared an attraction that cannot be tamed. So keeping Aric away is impossible, and Aric would sooner die than allow anyone to hurt the woman he loves. Misha, master vampire and Celia’s sworn protector, also finds his way into the chaos, seeking blood from those who have harmed her.
Now Celia and her sisters are caught in the middle of a war driven by lust, fueled by hatred, and destined to end in tragedy. For Anara is a force to be reckoned with, and he will not succumb without robbing Celia of those who hold her heart.

I continued to stare at the tiny heartbeat on the screen. “How did this happen?” I asked stupidly.
“Have you been sexually active, Celia?”
Dr. Belman’s voice was soft and surprisingly patient. I thought about all the times Aric and I had been intimate in the last few weeks. “Um. Yes.”
“Did you use birth control?”
“Yes.” He raised his eyebrows. “It’s true,” I insisted.
I had started back on the Pill when Aric and I resumed our relationship. Dr. Belman pointed to the monitor. “Every time, Celia?”
“Well, no. But it was only one night.” That was the truth—sort of. Granted that one night we’d made love four times, but that didn’t matter, right? I looked back at the little beating heart. I guess it does . . . matter.
Tears streamed down my face. Although I completely freaked, I couldn’t help smiling. Aric and I are having a baby.
Dr. Belman removed the internal monitor, the same monitor I insisted he use to disprove the pregnancy test results. I thought he was just in obstetrician mode when I explained my symptoms and he had me give a urine sample. Extreme fatigue and nausea could have been related to anything I might have contracted on my recent international trips.
“Are you all right, Celia?”
I sat up and wiped my trickling tears. “Yes. No. I’m not sure, but I will be.”
“Do you feel the young man responsible will be supportive?”
Don’t you mean the young werewolf? “In time. Aric is just going through a lot at the moment.” You see, Dr. Belman, he was severely burned and disfigured three days ago, in Chaitén, Chile, trying to save the world from a seven-headed fire-breathing demon.
“Regardless of what challenges he’s facing, if he’s worth keeping, he’ll make you and his child a priority.” He sighed and placed his hand on my shoulder. “I apologize, Celia. I know it’s not my place to speak to you like this, but you are a nice young lady and deserve a good man.”
“I appreciate your concern, Dr. Belman, but Aric is a good man.” He’s just hurting.
Dr. Belman tapped my arm and regarded me thoughtfully. “If you say so, I believe you.” He helped me off the exam table. “So, miss, the plan is you will stop taking birth control at once and you will see me in four weeks. Here is a prescription for some prenatal vitamins.”
I pushed my long wavy hair from my face and stared at the script. Somehow the piece of paper officially announced I was becoming a mommy. Another tear escaped my eye. “Thank you, Dr. Belman.”
On the way home, different scenarios of Aric’s reaction played in my head, and I wondered how to tell him. He hadn’t called, though he’d said he would. It was rare for him not to stay true to his word, and even more rare for him not to check on me.
My head spun with worry. The demon hadn’t just marred Aric physically, he’d brutalized his self-esteem. I drummed my fingers against the steering wheel and entertained my options. I couldn’t call his Warriors. If Aric’s Pack Elders found out, his friends would surely be punished and so would Aric. I also couldn’t involve my sisters. They would suspect something, and in this case, Aric should know my news first.
Will you be happy for us, Aric?
Four days ago, I wouldn’t have asked myself that question. I would have known based on the depths of our feelings, and from the intimate moments in our past. I remembered one day in particular when we first began living together. We lay in bed facing each other. Aric traced my jawline with his finger as he spoke. It tickled and made me smile. “I wanted to talk to you about something.”
“What is it, love?”
He’d returned my smile. It made him happy whenever I used that term of endearment. “I’ve noticed you haven’t had your cycle. Do you think you could be pregnant?”
My fingertips playfully danced against his muscular chest while I tried in vain to suppress my blush. “My periods are irregular. They only come about every nine weeks. Don’t worry, I should be getting another one soon.”
“I wasn’t worried,” he’d replied. At the time, I could have sworn he seemed disappointed.
Another time I recalled, Aric and I had run into a family whose baby I’d delivered when I was still a nurse. We each took turns holding the baby and had exchanged heartfelt glances. Although neither of us had articulated our feelings, I knew we’d wondered about our own family one day.
Well, it looks like the day has come a little sooner than expected.
I was stopped at a light when my phone buzzed. My heart clenched when I read the incoming text.
I’m sorry. I need some time alone. Aric
The obnoxious car horn behind me snapped me from my stupor and made me drop the phone. It was just as well, I probably would have thrown it with how frustrated I felt. Damnit, Aric. Don’t do this . . . not today.
I drove to my house in Dollar Point to gather some personal items following my doctor’s appointment. I was about to take a walk along Lake Tahoe to clear my head, when someone knocked on my door. Anara waited on my doorstep, holding a charm similar to the one Genevieve had given me to pass through the wards. My hackles instinctively rose. “What are you doing here, Anara?”
A long, vicious growl rumbled through his chest. “I’m here to tell you that if you ever see Aric again I’ll—”
“You’ll what? Kill me?” I was livid. How dare he come to my home and threaten me!
Anara just laughed. “No, you stupid woman. I’ll kill him.”
His response incensed me. I crouched and readied myself to attack. “Not if you’re already dead.”
Anara threw out his hand as if batting a fly, sending me slamming into the portrait-filled wall. Glass from the frames cut into my skin, stinging and piercing my flesh like the jagged teeth of a shark. Warm blood trickled down my back and soaked through my thick cotton sweater. He held me a few feet off the floor with just his will. I jerked my shoulders, trying to move, to kick—anything to break from his hold. My limbs failed me. I reached into my tigress for strength, but Anara’s power caged her within me.
He walked inside, slamming the door behind him. Invisible fists struck my face with each step he took. He broke my nose and bloodied my face without ever lifting a finger. My ears rang from the jolts and from the eerie call of howling wolves.
“Do you think me merely a vampire or a Tribemaster you can so easily defeat?” he spat. “I am an Elder. I can summon the power of the Pack and use it to my liking. I can kill Aric and anyone I wish from miles away. No one can stop me—and no one can help you!”
He lifted his palm and squeezed his fingers, choking me slowly from where he stood. Spots speckled my vision. I thought he would kill me until he dropped his hand and released the pressure burning my throat. He paced in front of me, rubbing his jaw, seemingly pleased with the amount of magic at his fingertips. I spat out blood and tried to speak. “Why Aric?” I croaked.
His hot breath stirred against my face. “I will not allow you to taint his bloodline. He is a king among wolves and you are nothing but a whore. I’d rather see him dead than with an abomination like you!” His stare traveled the length of my body with the deepest of loathing. He lifted the edge of my sweater, before yanking it down with disgust. “I never understood what he saw in you,” he scoffed.
Anara’s hold continued as he stalked away. “My followers are everywhere, Celia. I can manipulate them to do my will, just as I did Virginia. I will know if you see him, I will know if you speak to him.”
The realization of his words struck me like a thunderbolt and washed my bleeding form with cold dread. He was the one who believed me the key to his destruction . . . and to all he led.
Anara stopped at the door, the muscles of his back tightening until they bulged against his red shirt. “If you dare tell anyone about this, your sisters will share Aric’s fate.”
As a testament of his power Anara didn’t release me until about an hour after he left. I crashed to the floor, coughing and shaking. The only thought racing through my head was the need to protect Aric, my sisters, and the baby growing inside me.

Celia Wird is being threatened by a werewolf Elder, Anara, to stay away from her mate Aric, or he will kill the people she loves. Let me start by saying poor Celia. I cannot believe all the stuff the girl had to endure during this book. Needless to say I have a ton of respect for her character as a result. She is strong and selfless. The vampires are hilarious. I could totally picture the Catholic schoolgirl persona. They definitely lighten the mood; the things that come out of their mouths cracked me up. In addition, the tension between the vampires and wolves is well done. The character development throughout the books in exceptional; so many of the characters grow throughout the story making the reader feel invested in them. A Cursed Bloodline has a fabulous plot with numerous things going on. Just when you think, our heroes are going to catch a break something else happens. I truly enjoyed this story and look forward to the next book in the series. Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
A whirlwind of a story filled with kick ass heroines action intrigue secrets and tragedy that will hit your heart full of twists and turns by the end you'll be dying for more
I love this book it was amazing
Ooooh man! This one was brutal! So many bad things happen in this book! It was making me so mad! I had to skim parts of this book because my frustration was unwelcome, and I had to get to the parts that would let me release my frustration; it took awhile, but some of my frustration was relieved, but a whole new situation would ramp it back up! But, the story was very engrossing, and I really enjoy this series! One thing I do hate is that whole I won't tell people about some evil person trying to hurt everyone because I want to protect everyone scenario; it's so frustrating! It never works out, and so it really gets on my nerves; it just creates way more problems then just telling people the truth. For once, I'd like a character to be like screw you, I'm telling my people what's going on and we can figure it out together! You can tell people and keep it secret, so nuts! I was hoping Celia would have done something like that, but alas torture ensued. I am glad she somewhat put Masha in place; I was thinking the whole time, if he really loved her as much as he says, he wouldn't be sleeping with everything. He always did bother me. Even through this torment, I still really enjoyed this book, and I think it was an excellent addition to this series, and although I did have to skim some parts, I still highly enjoyed it! I will definitely read the next one and I hope everyone will have a happy ending!
Celia's family and loved ones are threatened by a close foe, but they can't know why she's doing what she is doing - for her to save them. Wow! If I hadn't been in Celia's head, I would have thought the girl was going stark raving mad. Amazingly well written for me, the reader, to see that what Celia is doing has reason but that if I was in her sisters and the wolves shoes, I'd think her crazy! Celia is always the big sister and trying to keep everyone safe. She's the protector, as her tigeress is strong and set the bar with Celia protective nature of being the oldest sister as well. But she needs to be protected too! I feel for this woman. Doing what is right and still put through the wringer. All that Celia suffers for those she loves - her sisters, the wolves, Aric... good grief! Celia's parents were cursed for their love, and Celia seems doomed to follow the family love events. This book pushes every last character to their limits and beyond. Some may not return... Heart pounding and heart twisting actions here. Things that people have to do for each other is just heart gripping. You won't be able to put the book down. I couldn't put the book down! I HAD to know what would happen next. How bad would it be? When would it get better? To get a taste of the light then have it pushed a little further away to work harder for it. Every event made me think this had to be the low point and it couldn't get worse... It does. But there are glimpses and drops of hope that kept me wanting more. Life doesn't get easier for the Wird sisters, but they keep on kicking back with the little glimmers of hope they have and the love they feel. Cecy has delivered with another outstanding novel. I was a bit worried about the anguish going into this book as the last was starting to feel strong with it. But this book pulled out and ahead of the game with where we go here. Once again, I can't wait for the next novel to come out!!
Celia Wird is about to face the most difficult choices of her life. Leave everyone that she loves or have them destroyed. Were machinations are taken to an entirely new level and even though she is mated to Aric she might loose him forever. Robson brings Celia's story to the forefront in A Cursed Bloodline. Caught on the razors edge of impossible circumstance, Celia is about to face a series of the MOST unfortunate and deadly events. Will those she holds dear turn their back on her when she needs them the most? “I get knocked down, I get up again, ain't never going to keep me down,” just might need to be Celia's theme song. When all seems lost and there is no where to turn, Celia keeps going. I have to admit, I did think there was times Celia should just bow out, game over...but then she would rally once again. Got to say Aric was a huge disappointment for me. I wanted to yell at him to pull his head out of the hole in the ground. A Cursed Bloodline is action and violence packed. Gore, battles and truly evil villains accent a heart wrenching storyline...in other words, Robson gives the perfect balance to create a powerful, fast paced story with heart.
Reviewed by Angela and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog Brace yourself Cecy fans, A Cursed Bloodline will take you for an emotional roller-coaster ride. It left me not only without any sleep but stripped of every energy to function the day after reading this book. And with that said, A Cursed Bloodline is one of my Top Picks of the year. This is one of those series that should be read from the beginning. Only because reading from the start makes the readers understand the journey of all the characters and especially understand how Celia has gotten to this point of her life. It is a tremendous journey full of risks, danger and heartaches but also full of hope, love, family, friendship and a whole lot of survival. Everything I’ve come to expect and predicted from the very beginning of this series has not at all come true in this book. Sure, Ms. Robson gave it non-stop suspense and action as always. There’s a little less humor, but the snark and smart mouths of the characters are also there, but some outcomes, I did not see coming. In fact, Ms. Robson shocked me with the turn of events she brought to the Weird Sisters’ lives. Just when I thought Celia has endured the worse, nothing would compare to this. This “Cursed Bloodline” will be her ultimate test. I have to say, this will also test the loyalties of everyone around her. There is just no way for me to do a recap of the story without spilling any spoilers. But let me tell you this, there are a lot of scenes in this book that has deep meanings to them so, pay attention. Watch for Celia’s friendships and how drastic some will change for the better or worse, specifically her relationship with her sisters, Danny, Aric and most especially, Misha….and even the Catholic girls too. Everything that has come to pass between all of them had me in tears. The sub-stories were just as powerful. Again, without doing a recap, I’ll tell you that Emme and Liam’s story affected me the most. Okay, maybe not the most because every bit of this book affected me, but their story hit me hard. I also took Misha’s role to heart. I wanted more for him but, I guess when it comes down to it; this Master Vamp is not quite ready for his HEA just yet. Up next is A Curse Unbroken, and it is the last of Celia’s story. She will finally get her happy-ever-after and damn after this book it will be a well-deserved one. The series will not end after that but will continue to Taran’s story. I was hoping for Emme’s story but if I know Cecy, her characters have their way of revealing themselves. I trust she will keep us equally entertained and intrigued while we wait for their story. *ARC provided by publisher
This is a must read series. This book has it all. I wanted to throw a punch, help her fight and battle the demons with them all. I even cried when she did. If you want the whole package of vampires, wolves, tears, joys and love and most of all kickass action this is the book for you!
Never disappointed with this series! Loved it! Fast paced and plenty of plot twists. I love all the characters. Its like a visit with old friends. The book is a good length, I feel like I got my moneys worth.
A Cursed Bloodline was freaking awesome! I recommend this series to everybody! If I had the power to make people read, I would make them read this series! It put me through the ringer. I was mad, happy & sad! Not a lot of stories can me cry & this one just had me in tears, it was so freaking good. I love Celia & Aric! They go through so much, yet we're shown that love can conquer anything! There were so many twists and turns in this story I mean there was a lot I didn't see coming. I will definitely reread this series over and over again! I can't wait until A Curse Unbroken comes out next year! Please read this series y'all! You won't be disappointed!
~ 4 A Cursed Bloodline Stars ~ ARC A Cursed Bloodline A Cursed Bloodline is book four in the Weird Girls series by Cecy Robson. We are taken on an action packed emotional ride in each and every installment. Ms. Robson does her trade mark writing, where everything and anything can happen. We get action, adventure, heartache, lose, twist, turns, suspense, surprise, and it all revolves around Celia Weird. As always we get so much happening that I don’t know where to begging or end. Fans that have enjoyed the Weird Girls so far will enjoy this latest installment. I suggest you have a box of tissues while reading this novel. I cried. I laughed. I yelled. I sighed. I said oh no… A Cursed Bloodline starts of with news we have been waiting for, but it comes with the knowledge that she has so much more to lose. She must fight and sacrifice to protect those she loves. Everyone, even family does not understand why she makes the choices she does and she can’t tell them. Aric hates her, her sister’s think she is crazy, but Danny, our Blue Merle wolf, is a true friend sticking by her no matter what and of course he figures out what is happening. We get a little glimpse into his powers and what he can do that makes him special among the wolves. Halfway through the book we get another turn of events and it was about time things changed in Celia’s life. It is still a hard bumpy road for her, but Celia is true to herself and fights for what she wants. Destiny, our sear vamp, makes another appearance and surprise surprise we get more clarification on her vision. There are a few back storylines going on with the sisters and I would like to see them get their own books someday. I still have some issues with some characters in this book. Aric he still has not redeemed himself in my eyes after everything he put Celia through. Then Misha OMG (you will know the moment I am talking about, where I said oh no you did not do that). I also felt a little overwhelmed as so much happens in this book (maybe too much). The Weird Girls are an emotional read, full of magic and action that keep you coming back for more. As always this was another emotional roller coaster ride for me and I am waiting to see where things go from here. A Cursed Bloodline: A Weird Girls Novel, Cecy Robson Review from jeannie zelos book reviews Having just read the novella introducing the sisters and their world I found it fine to jump straight in to this series, despite having missed the earlier books ( though I want to read them now too!). We meet Misha, the Master Vampire who is convinced he is in love with Celia, and that they will be together...despite her having told him over and over that she loves Aric. She’s been through so much to be with him, as a Pure Werewolf the Pack Elders were not happy at their connection, but finally recognised it because of their Mate bond. Still, not everyone is happy and it seems one of them, Anara, has secretly been gaining power, and turned to Dark Magic. Now he threatens everyone Celia loves, from her sisters, to Aric and his pack, and all her friends. He shows her just what he can do when he targets one of them, and he is unable to recover as a Were should. He tells her she needs to leave Aric, sever their bond, and to tell no-one of his plans or he will kill them all....Poor Celia, what a trap to be in and it gets worse and worse with danger coming from him and from another source. It leads to a riveting adventure, where I was hard put to keep up. Its a real roller coaster ride... Scarcely did she seems to recover from one thing when the next was on her. Its drama, drama, drama all the way, lots of magic and some scenes that really pulled at my emotions. Aric, he was so hurt when she pulled away, couldn’t believe it at first and then as her actions over time got more an more erratic thanks to Anara, and even her family thought she’s lost her head mentally he appeared to finally believe her and to have moved on – and when Celia saw that she was so distraught. I was too – poor Celia, all she wants to do is help people and be left alone with her love but all she gets is danger and isolation. she’s holding another huge secret from everyone too and I just felt heartbroken for her. I love a read like this where the sadness is really drawn out and i feel moved almost to tears. Its a testimony to how real the characters feel to me. My favouriet books are those where everything feels real even though its fantasy. Stars: five, great escape from reality, a real gut wrenching read – just my type! I loved it even though I didn’t know all the background details, and its one for the keeper files along with the earlier ones when i get them... ARC supplied via Netgalley and publishers.
A Cursed Bloodline by Cecy Robson. Review Courtesy of April Hollingworth This is the fourth book in the A Weird Girls Novel series and it can be read as a standalone. I found myself doubled over laughing, crying, angry, frustrated and deliriously happy, all emotions depending on what was happening to the beloved characters in this wonderful book. Cecy Robson has managed to create such wonderful characters that if they stepped out of the book, I wouldn’t have been that surprised. After all from the moment I started reading I was drawn into their lives as if everything was happening right before me. What would you do if you’re given an ultimatum that will destroy your life but save those you love? For Celia Wire the answer is whatever needs to be done. Filled with passion, fear, a need so strong to protect and a love that will never quit, A Cursed Bloodline is a book that grips your heart and doesn’t let go. A must read ~ I loved it.
