The only thing Jeremy Slade cares about is revenge. After his wife and child are killed in a train robbery, the soldier scours the Wild West in search of the murderers. Instead he finds Marlena Talbot, a confused young woman with an incredible secret.
Marlena isn't from Jeremy's time. She's a grad student in history who's traveled from the year 2013. Marlena's journey into the past came courtesy of a fall down an abandoned mine, but she doesn't know how to make the return trip. If she doesn't figure out the way back, she'll be stuck in the nineteenth century. Now, in 1853 the soldier and the student must put aside their differences to catch the killers and find Marlena a way home.
As the two team up to solve their problems, they find themselves irresistibly attracted to each other even as they're plunged into a series of life-threatening situations. If they survive, is there any way a relationship could work out between them, or are their differences too great?
This thrilling adventure by Adrienne Fleming answers these questions and raises a few of its own. Join Jeremy and Marlena as they juggle danger and romance in 1853!
