There is no need to write paragraph after paragraph about a book or series. It makes sense to purchase these great books in a set. No way are you not going to want to not read the rest of the series after reading Ever Shade. Yes there are some editing errors, so what. This series is both entertaining and well worth the time to read. I found it to be very enjoyable, moving, and heartwarming. The entire series was well thought out and either full of action or heartwarming dialogue. There were no wasted pages or mundane reading. Thank you Alexia.

Very poor writing, wrong tenses , wrong words, words left out , just poor wood craft for someone who claims to love writing. Characters are flat . There is too much action and drama with little compelling corresponding writing to flesh out characters and storyline. The lead female character has the emotional maturity of a hormonal thirteen year old , only seems to view male characters through a lens of physical appeal , is whiny ,codependent, and self-centered ( much too self- centered to be a leader or heroine) , and does not seem to gain maturity or intelligence from her traumatic experiences . Her actions are much too impulsive , none of her actions seem to come from thoughtful evaluation as far as what we are given as readers. In the Southern Kingdom battle Shade comes out fighting like all the other warriors, notes all the deaths ( including losing it over her mother's body mid battle - really ?!) THEN she uses her magic to decimate opposing forces. Unreal. Most sci-fi/fantasy reading requires a certain amount of suspension of disbelief, but this is asking too much. I read through Book 3 because I had purchased the set , but I had lost interest in the characters ( especially Shade ) by the 2nd book. I gave the first book a halfway decent review because I found the premise interesting. Unfortunately, this writer doesn't seem to have the skill to develop it properly. She seems to have written a lot of books , but I doubt any of the others are any better reading.
