Marine First Sergeant Logan "Cowboy" Reese was rescued hours before he would've met the same fate as his five murdered teammates in Afghanistan. Returning to the US and civilian life hadn't been part of his plans at this stage of his career, but dealing with PTSD forced his hand. However, an unexpected job offer with Trident Security, a private firm in Tampa, has him finding a purpose in life again, but will his flashbacks destroy a promising future altogether?

Officer Dakota Swift has worked hard to prove she belongs on Tampa PD with the big boys and has been trying to get assigned to the Special Operations Division. A local, serial killer, targeting submissives in the BDSM lifestyle, gives her the opportunity to get her feet wet in undercover work. She's assigned to the joint task force between TPD, the FBI, and Trident Security, but can she survive her attraction to her new partner, Logan?

The operatives of Trident Security have a keen interest of catching the "Kink Killer" as the heads of the company also own a BDSM club, The Covenant. Until his identity is discovered, no woman in the lifestyle community is safe. With the body count rising, will the killer be caught before someone from The Covenant becomes the next victim?

Meet the Author

Samantha A. Cole is a retired policewoman and former paramedic who is thrilled to add author to her list of exciting careers. She has lived her entire life in the suburbs of New York City and is looking forward to becoming a snow-bird between New York and Florida someday. Her two fur-babies, Jinx and Bella, keep her company and remind their mom to take a break from writing every once in a while to go for a walk, which is the best way to deal with a stubborn case of writer’s block.

An avid reader since childhood, Samantha was often found with a book in hand and sometimes one in each. After being gifted with a stack of romance novels from her grandmother, her love affair with the genre began in her teens. Many years later, she discovered her love for writing stories was just as strong. Taking her life experiences and training, she strives to find the perfect mix of suspense and romance for her readers to enjoy.

While the original planned stories for the Trident Security series have been completed, the seven novels and two novellas have brought many opportunities for Samantha to spread her wings and bring her readers more characters and stories to love. Look for her upcoming Trident Security Omega Team series, Doms of The Covenant Novella series, Blackhawk Security series, and more from the Malone Brothers series, in addition to several stand alone projects.

Samantha Cole has the ability to combine elements of military and police special operations and private investigation with BDSM romance and pull off an intriguing mix of mystery, thriller, and romance all while holding the reader riveted and enthralled. A Dead Man's Pulse is the first full-length novel in Ms. Cole's The Omega Team series, a spin-off series from her original Trident Security series. While each of the books and novellas in both series can be read as standalone books, I really do recommend that you start with the first book in the Trident Security series (Leather & Lace) and read them all in order. That way you won't miss any of the backstories or the character development which is so integral to the entire series. It will also give a significant amount of background and character development for this particular novel. Logan "Cowboy" Reese is a former Marine Corps Forces Special Operation Command (MARSOC) Raider who served in Afghanistan and was a POW. He's literally been through hell and survived but it was far from easy. With everything that's happened and what he's still dealing with, he's beyond shocked and surprised when Ian "Boss-Man" Sawyer invites him to join the Omega Team of Trident Security. After a lot of soul searching and self-doubt on his part, he finally accepts. He's got a lot of issues and isn't sure he'll fit in but he'll give it his best shot. Dakota Swift is a member of the Tampa Police Department (TPD). She's been trying to transfer from the Patrol Division to the Special Ops Division (SOD) for what seems like forever. She has an outstanding record with commendations and awards. But every time an opening occurs, she's not even considered. She's never known why and has almost given up. But the new captain of SOD calls her in to meet on a very special ongoing case involving not just the TPD but the FBI and Trident Security as well. As she gets the details of the case, she's knows she's the perfect fit and jumps at the chance to participate. Part of the operation is for Dakota and her new temporary partner to go undercover as a D/s couple in one of the local BDSM clubs. Fortunately, Dakota is already a member of the lifestyle and is well-acquainted with what it will take to pull this off. But when she learns she's partnered with Logan, things have a very rocky start. Logan knows nearly nothing about BDSM and has to learn from the ground up. The operation they're part of isn't just dangerous. It's deadly. Can Logan overcome his past to become a convincing Dom? Will the contentious beginning of the partnership between Dakota and Logan derail the mission before it ever gets off the ground? There's a learning curve for Logan that could put both in extreme danger. The twists, turns, totally unexpected revelations, and potential romance for more than a single couple are a complete roller coaster ride of emotions of all types. All of Ms. Cole's fans who've read the Trident Security books and the prequel novella to the Omega Team series (Mountain of Evil) have been waiting for this book. It's full of tension, anticipation, and fraught with danger, breathtaking and death-defying moments, as well as BDSM erotic romance that will take your breath away. I give A Dead Man's Pulse my highest recommendation without reservation. Thank you, Samantha Cole, for once again giving us such a wonderful book that shows your hard work, your mastery of the genre, and your extreme writing talent! Kudos for such a remarkable book!

Logan Reese is a former POW who has PTSD that includes flashbacks. What he lived through is absolutely gut wrenching. He is now working for Trident Security. Police officer Dakota Swift has been trying to the Special Operations Division and has pretty much decided to go a different direction after being passed over so many times. She accepts an assignment to work with the joint task force that includes TPD, FBI and Trident Security to finally locate and discover and take down the serial killer "Kink Killer". A serial killer that is targeting submissives who are involved in the BDSM lifestyle. Logan and Dakota go undercover as Dom and Sub. What I really liked about this book is we follow along with Logan who has absolutely no experience or knowledge of the BDSM lifestyle and we learn along with him. Logan and Dakota's attraction is instant and builds as the story goes along. The sex scences are sizzling. The serial killer has been active in several books and the anticipation of who this killer might be has been driving me crazy. I don't think I have ever had an author that writing seems to get better with each book like Samantha's does. She has an amazing way of writing that pulls the reader right into the story. Build up of suspense, intrigue in this book is unbelievable. It gets very intense. I seriously could not put this book down. I was at the edge of my seat when the sub escaped the killer. I felt like I was looking behind her to see if he was coming after her. I was also yelling at Logan to hurry back to Dakota's to save her. Was the killer who I thought it was...no. I was completely surprised.
