My heroine is Lisbeth Salander from the Millenium triology and I believe that at the heart of every great book or film is a memorable and complex character who stays with you long after the end. Lisbeth Salander is definatly memorable and complex, and in a disturbed girls guide to curing boredom we have Hannah Harker. She is not an outcast who is looked down on by society, like Lisbeth, but she is tormented by the demons in her own head. She is undeniably a bad person, but her motives are complex and I found myself rooting for her even though I knew I shouldn't! I hope she returns in another novel because I would love to know what Hannah Harker does next in her insane life...

I love to discover something truly fresh and original, and with this Disturbed Girl book I have found the perfect character in Hannah Harker. I knew when I was reading that I should hate her and despise the horrific acts she commits, but she is so much deeper and more complex than an American Psycho. I was actually able to relate to her on many levels and even understand her motivation, although she takes things much too far. The story delivers plenty of sex and violence as promised, but I found the story almost secondary to Hannah. It is her that I want to know more about and find out what she does next. I know there is a sequel due out soon (maybe already?) called DG Implodes and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
