2018 RITA award-winning author!

Love takes the stage . . .

Elise deVries is not what she seems. By night, the actress captivates London theatergoers with her chameleon-like ability to slip inside her characters. By day, she uses her mastery of disguise to work undercover for Chegarre & Associates, an elite agency known for its discreet handling of indelicate scandals. But when Elise is tasked with locating the missing Duke of Ashland, she finds herself center stage in a real-life drama.

Noah Ellery left the glamour of the London aristocracy to pursue a simpler life in the country. He's managed to avoid any complications or entanglements-that is, until he lays eyes on Elise and realizes there's more to this beautiful woman than meets the eye. But when Elise reveals her real identity-and her true feelings for him-the runaway duke must confront the past he left behind . . . to keep the woman he loves forever.

About the Author

RITA-award winning author Kelly Bowen grew up in Manitoba, Canada. She attended the University of Manitoba and earned a Master of Science degree in veterinary physiology and endocrinology. But it was Kelly's infatuation with history and a weakness for a good love story that led her down the path of historical romance. When she is not writing, she seizes every opportunity to explore ruins and battlefields. Currently, Kelly lives in Winnipeg with her husband and two boys, all of whom are wonderfully patient with the writing process. Except, that is, when they need a goalie for street hockey.

Elise deVries, a sometime actress, and her brother Alexander Lavoie are business partners in Chegarre & Associates, which specialises in cleaning up the messes of the Regency’s rich and famous. Lady Abigail Ellery comes to their offices asking for their help in finding her brother Noah who has been missing for nearly two decades, and is presumed dead. Noah should be the rightful heir the Ashland title, since the recent death of the Duke, but it’s imperious that he be found, especially since the Dowager Duchess was sent to Bedlam by Abigail’s cousin Francis a month before; time is of the essence. The Dowager Duchess insists that Noah is still alive, and Abigail has become very suspicious of Francis’ intentions. Kelly Bowen outdid herself! If the premise for A DUKE TO REMEMBER sounded interesting, the result is spectacular: Ms. Bowen has woven an exceptionally intricate tale in which surprises abound. Noah and Elise have solid and captivating backstories, and both characters are absolutely endearing. I actually fell in love with Noah precisely when Elise met him; I was as dazzled as she was. Both Noah and Elise defy stereotypes in a perfectly convincing way; how many ways can a reviewer say that she loved both lead characters! And secondary ones are just as fabulous: I was completely mesmerised when a certain King made his first appearance, and I cannot help but hope we see more of this fascinating man. I loved Matilda’s forwardness, her bravery, her honesty, and Noah is a hero after my own heart: chivalrous and open-minded, and together they are ever better than separately. Kelly Bowen’s stellar prose, witty and dazzling dialogue, vivid descriptions, and lively pace make A DUKE TO REMEMBER an unforgettable book. To read this exquisite book is stepping into a world of absolute beauty, where a splendid romance coexists with a fabulously well-crafted and entertaining story. A DUKE TO REMEMBER is a definite must-read for historical romance fans! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this story!! The chemistry between Elise and Noah was was read hot and had me cheering for them from the beginning. When I learned what Noah went through as a child, my heart broke, but Elise was just the woman to heal it for him. My only disappointment was that we never learned the real reason Noah's parents did what they did....I really wanted to hear his mother's side of things. I'm excited to read the next book in the series, Between the Devil and the Duke, which stars Elise's brother Alex. January needs to get here soon!! Thanks go out to Forever Publishing via NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange of an honest review.

I have read and enjoyed all of Kelly Bowen's books but this might be my favorite! We met the heroine, Elise in "Duke of My Heart" but I would never have guessed the secrets she kept to herself and her brother Alex. (Can't wait for Alex's HEA.) Elise is excellent at her job at Chegarre & Assoc. and is willing to help find a missing Duke for his sister. Noah Ellery had a horrific childhood. He has changed his name and has a nice life on his farm until Elise finds him. While he refuses to go to London and assume his title, he gradually becomes convinced he has to help his sister and mother. He also falls in love with Elise. The villain in this book is Noah's greedy broke cousin who will get the title since many assume Noah is dead. There is also interesting information on the "King" of London's underworld. (He definitely needs a story of his own.) I don't like to write plot spoilers. This is a wonderful story and I hope you'll try it. I look forward to many more great reads from Kelly Bowen.

Unique Storyline A delightful story about Noah, an imperfect Duke, who is perfect in so many ways outside of societies definition and Elise who catches his heart with her forthrightness. What a brilliant idea; Chegarre & Associates, an elite agency known for its discreet handling of indelicate scandals and it's having two strong women in the lead positions! I loved watching Elise being able to take care of herself and being a chameleon as needed for the job. The fact that she can be stronger than Noah and him not take offense with it was refreshing. Author Kelly Bowen does a superb job in this story that stretches the aristocratic lines between propriety and how society deals with handicaps they can not understand. Written with intrigue and some danger the reader will be drawn into Elise's adventure in finding the missing Duke and keeping them both alive so he can enter into society to save the mother he can't forgive and a title he doesn't want. This story deals with unforgivable acts from a loved one, helping another from grievous personal damage, finding love, dealing with a handicap, protecting those not able to protect themselves, connecting back with family and righting a wrong. I give this 4 STARS for the uniqueness of the storyline. A copy was gifted via Netgalley

London - 1819 Miriam Ellery, the Dowager Duchess of Ashland, is a patient at Bedlam and chained to her bed. She has been put there by her nephew, Francis Ellery. She has recently lost her husband, the eleventh Duke of Ashland, and is prostrate with grief. With her current physical and mental situation, Francis has used this opportunity to have her admitted to Bedlam and subjected to cold water “treatments.” Elise DeVries is posing as a male doctor and realizes that Francis is in line to inherit the Dukedom and simply wants to rid himself of the Dowager. But Elise is not taken in by Francis’s false air of caring as his greed keeps peeping through his demeanor. He has insisted on being present for the examination. The Duchess still has a daughter who has been estranged from her parents for years. Her name is Lady Abigail and she has just learned about the death of her father and the situation with her mother. Since Francis would not allow Abigail to see her mother, she has turned to Elise for help. There is also a son named Noah who is thought to have died many years ago but there is no proof of this death. He simply vanished. It was said that he was mad and now his mother is heading in the same direction. Elise DeVries works for Chegarre and Associates which is a firm that “fixes” the public and private lives of wealthy people and charges enormous fees for it. Elise is very disturbed to see the Dowager Duchess in such a horrible place as Bedlam. Elise’s brother and partner in the firm is Alexander Lavoie. He has been investigating Francis and has found him to have some large gambling debts. Thus, it appears that he will stop at nothing to ensure that he becomes the next Duke. When another person who knows the workings of the underground that Chegarre and Associates work with appears and professes to know that Noah is still alive, things start happening. Thus, Elise strikes out to the area where Noah is supposed to be. When she stops to help rescue a young boy from drowning, Noah comes along. He calls himself Noah but uses a different last name. He offers her a place to stay for the night and the town insists that she stay for a party so they can all thank her. As Elise as Noah get to know one another, Elise’s talents as a woman who has fought in many areas become known. The background on Noah slowly comes out and an attraction sparks. I loved this book. The way that Noah and Elise talk to one another and open up about themselves shows two people who are perfect for one another. This is truly a romantic book and I know readers will love it. A woman of mystery gets caught up in a complicated masquerade. Elise has many disguises in her arsenal actress and undercover agent are just a few. The lure of A Duke to Remember for me was Elise. She has so many different identities that she loses a little bit of her own individuality with each one. What a hard way to live. In meeting Noah she starts to gain a better understanding of herself and I think the same could be said of him. I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review. Not an easy story to get into but it is an exceptional read once given a chance. By the end I was caught up in this tangled up romance.

Kelly Bowen has done it again! Every book is exciting, fun, sensual and well written with characters that leap off the page. They are characters who feel alive and real. If you like romance with heart, suspense and heat, this book is for you! Be sure to read the first book in this series first to help understand a few minor characters though its not necessary.
