About the Author

A fan of Jane Austen since having to study Pride & Prejudice for her English Lit O Level in 1978, Cassandra has been indulging her passion for all things Austen for many years.

Having long wanted to be a writer, the two came together in recent years, and she is now publishing her endeavours in the hope that some readers will enjoy reading her stories as much as she enjoyed writing them.

A former college lecturer and PA, she is British born and bred (though she did live in the USA for 5 years). Cassandra has two grown up children, and she splits her time between Switzerland, where she lives with her husband, and Regency England, where she lives with her characters.

I read many continuations and re-telling of Pride and Prejudice and simply can't get enough. While following similar re-tellings of this beloved story, it does give fresh twists and opportunities for more brooding and misunderstandings. While the book picks up a bit slow, by the time you finish it, you are ready for book 2 in the serious. Definitely a fun way to explore the introspection and happenings of all the characters during there absence from the original. Not a huge amount of side stories which is great, but plenty of banter, truths, and mishaps.

This is the second intallment of the three and it leaves you in suspense for the next and final chapter of this pride and prejudice variation. In this book Darcy cannot help running into his heart's desire and just as things seem to be getting closer to a resolution for the two something happens to interrupt. I hope that the author releases the next one the same time as the Kindle version. I had to wait to purchase this one for the Nook and I was looking everyday for this version.

One of the best re-tellings I have read. We see the aftermath of the disastrous Kent proposal on the feelings of Darcy and Elizabeth in heartfelt detail. A breathtaking and heart-rending look at how they work to overcome Kent and move forward. Must read!
