Starting out the collection is my feature story, a reimagining of Charles Dickens’s classic novella, A Christmas Carol. In A Firefighter Christmas Carol, Elliot’s PTSD replaces Scrooge’s greed as the focus of our main protagonist’s demons.
Next in line is Janitor, a psychological tale in which a nightshift worker quickly realizes he is not alone. Who is the man in black? And will Jeb keep his sanity long enough to find out?
Following Janitor is Death Alarm where I use real-life firefighting knowledge to explore other-worldly consequences when pure evil battles the noblest of professions.
Next in line is a story called CatchTime. In it, a comment on a fictional social media platform is all it takes to really piss a guy off.
To close out the collection is Skelwaller Lane, a brutal story exploring how even the most horrible behavior can sometimes be justified only if the entire story is told.
So, sit back and enjoy my delve into the psychological with an occasional assist from the supernatural.
