This book will prove encouraging, insightful, and instructive for you! It's deep enough but short, simple, and to-the-point, the way men like it. The gist of it is this: be a man, be a friend, be a leader, understand your times and what you should be doing. "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Psalms 11:3) In this book Dwayne Bell has identified a major "fault line" in the foundation of our society; men are no longer men, at least in a biblical/historical context. From ancient days men fulfilled their destiny by engaging and subduing enemies that threatened their lives and the lives of their loved ones. Today we scarcely see the enemy, let alone how to engage him. Dwayne helps us understand the times we live in and the enemy that is at our door. He takes us back to David's Mighty Men and shows how they sacrificially, fearlessly and triumphantly engaged the enemy of their day. He clearly illustrates how it must be in our day also, that once seeing the threat we must overcome and prevail through the presence and power of the same God that enabled David's Mighty Men. This book is both thought provoking and instructional; it will challenge you as a man to become what God created you to be; "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth." (Genesis 1:28)
