Overview

Publisher's Note: This story is continued in the full-length novel The Art of Ruining a Rake, and is intended as bonus content or as an introduction to the Scandalous Spinsters Series.

A night she'll never forget…

Miss Lucy Lancester has loved her brother's best friend, Roman Alexander, for as long as she can remember. So devotedly, she's vowed never to marry anyone else. But her beloved libertine is hardly aware of her existence, and not the least deserving of her affection. Deciding her cause lost, she makes plans to open a girls' school in Bath. There's just one thing she needs to do before she confirms her spinsterhood forever: spend one blissful night in Roman's arms. But her handsome rogue isn't ready to have the tables turned. It will take more than a coquettish smile to turn his head. She must play a game…of persuasion.

The heroine is determined to live her own life but wants to spend one passionate night with the only man she ever loved. She plans a seduction and becomes more confident in herself in the process. He didn't have chance. It's a prequel that had a solid positive ending for our heroine. The hero has yet to be redeemed so that's the next story. It should be good.

I read this first before reading The Art of Ruining a Rake and I have to say I wasn't sure about continuing onto The Art but I'm so glad I did. This book is a setup and in it self just so so. But do read The Art ofRuining a Rake

A Game Of Persuasion by Emma Locke is an entertaining read. Ms Locke has delivered a well written book. The characters are great in Roman and Lucy's story, with plenty of sizzle and drama served on the side. I enjoyed A Game Of Persuasion and look forward to reading more from Emma Locke in the future. This is a complete book, not a cliff hanger...but the story doesn't end here. I'll call it a happy for now ending.

A Game of Persuasion is a prequel to The Art of Ruining a Rake. The Art of Ruining a Rake is the story. Once I realized that I went back and read both books. They fit well together. I wish I would have figured it out before. Still an entertaining read. I received a copy of A Game of Persuasion in exchange for an honest review.
