The new edition of A Garden Book for Houston is a trailblazing behemoth. It's been almost a quarter century since the last edition and so much had changed in the garden world. The book's focus has shifted to organic gardening and native plants and away from the tired practice of covering Houston with St. Augustine grass. But there's still information on lawn care and just about everything else you want to know. All the texts and the beautiful pictures are targeted for gardeners on the upper Texas Gulf Coast. Hundreds of pages of detailed tables on local plants are an unparalleled resource. This book is indispensable.
