About the Author

Hailey dollar was born July 31st, 1989 and grew up in Yorktown, Virginia. She attended grade school at York High and completed her secondary education at Peninsula Catholic High School. She attended Christopher Newport University briefly, but left to join the United States Army as a Healthcare Specialist. She was deployed to Mosul, Iraq from October of 2009 through October of 2010 and was stationed At Fort Hood, Texas for the duration of her career.

In October of 2012, she received an honorable discharge when she welcomed her daughter into the world. She currently holds a Bachelor Degree of Health Science, a Master Degree of Health Science, and is attending classes to pursue her Ph.D with Trident University International.

While it is a very interesting story of loss, love, heartache, triumph, and redemption- it feels rather rushed and detailed in rather strange spots.  It was an interesting but somewhat difficult read with all of the mistakes.   Didn't take long to read and it allowed me to read in one sitting.

The book speaks about the author's constant need to connect with her inner self, her traumatic childhood and, later on, her experiences as a U.S. Army medic. The account of her life in an abusive household, failed relationships, drinking binges, sexual encounters, bullying and motherhood takes readers on a melancholic yet inspirational journey. Putting down her story honestly without any kind of bias, and her gratitude towards life and all the experiences she learnt from her life, make it a book worth reading. It is a story that will keep readers riveted. The book has pictures of Hailey with the different people in her life and at different stages. It gives the autobiography a more personal touch, making it easy for readers to connect with the characters in Hailey's life. The book gives a positive message of acceptance. The author tells readers that once you accept the positive and negative outcomes in life and find out who you really are, then you are free from everything and life becomes easy to live. It is a story of pain, loss, love, redemption, acceptance and triumph. The author gives confidence and strength to readers by saying there is nothing that cannot be fixed. On the whole, it is an inspirational and motivational read that will help readers look at life in a positive way.
