The setting of this book was very interesting and after reading a bit, I found myself looking up the judge to learn more about his disappearance. I really like when that happens. I could tell there was quite a bit of research that went into the story. At times, I had a little trouble becoming immersed in the story but it might just be me. Overall, a good book. A great mix of mystery, science-fiction, romance, and history! My entire family enjoyed reading this book...including my pre-teen/teenage children. A Handful of Dust has something for everyone and is definitely a MUST read!
