This book is a wonderful presentaion of the impacts climate change is having on our planet. The bicycle travel and history of the little towns keeps you engrossed and turning the pages. Kind of like a "spoonfull of sugar" you almost don't realize how much climate science you are reading. Not just a book for bicylists. The bicycle travel is jist the framework for the real message of the author's observations of how climaye change is impacting our world and how the people he met react to that knowledge. Great read!

Impending doom , a quest for truth, and the bike ride of a lifetime provide the momentum for this story. It is an enjoyable, easy read that clearly explains the dangers of climate change - as well as suggestions for “turning the ship around”. Even if science is not your cup of tea, but you just want to explore our nation from the comfort of your easy chair, this is the book for you. I dream of one day enjoying a long bike ride like this - or any of the “shorter” rides mentioned. Goodrich provides plenty of advice for the road. Would love to sit down and have a beer with him and hear even more stories from land and sea!
