About the Author

Meredith Morgan is a pseudonym, my professional and online identity. I write novels for and about strong women and self-publish them as eBooks on Smashwords.

I was raised in the Midwest but have roots in the Deep South. I have lived in Florida for the past fifteen years. I tend to alternate the settings for my stories between all three places. From that experience, I've discovered that I love Southern women, Midwestern men and I'm fascinated (in a weird and scary kind of way) by the people I've encountered in Florida, most of whom are from other places.

Besides writing, my passions are walking the beach, reading and cooking. For a more detailed bio, see my website.

While I had been finding this to be a pleasant read, I was disappointed that the "adult" characters (those to be at least in their '50's) were depicted speaking as adolescents. Replying with, "Yeah," instead of the appropriate "Yes," or commenting, "It sucks," rather than, "It's awful," left me feeling that something was quite "off." It just didn't feel right. Additionally, on page 54, a main character's son suddenly underwent a name-change from "Jeff" to "Paul." I had to back-track to learn where I had gone astray that I didn't know who this character was, and realized that it was actually the son. Though I had encountered numerous misplaced words and the occasional sentence fragment, structural mistake, and run-on (and on...) indicating editing errors, this was a serious blunder. As I continued to read, I found that Paul's name changed back to Jeff, and then again, back to Paul. I was regretful that such an error could get by the editors, though I suppose I shouldn't complain too much; it was a free book. I was enjoying it, too, but found these mistakes detracted from the reading experience. Such a shame.

A great story.. loved it. To see there is still a chance at love and careing is great. I am this age and alone to lose the love of your life is the most awful thing. But to find another love is wounderful .

Not sure how to rate this. Started out as a nice love story, then it just got bogged down in the details. Obviously a lot of reasearch went into this book, but after a while I felt like I was reading a how-to manual. As with all her books, it needed more proofreading...to change a character's name in the middle of the book is unexcusable.
