It was pure pleasure reading A Journey of Life On Purpose, a work of essays and poetry from new author, Avril Somerville. I am so moved by her humanity and deep humility, her critical eye, her disquietude with social injustice in any form, and her unique perspectives on race, ethnicity, sisterhood and nationality. With this book, Avril really impresses me with her honesty about everything involved in balancing family, work, spirituality, activism and art. This book is thoughtful, accessible, and relatable. It will challenge you to embrace your gifts and your flaws in order to live your very best life. What I adore most about this work is that it is a very clear reflection of how generous, sensitive, beautiful and expansive the author's mind and her heart are. I am so pleased to now follow this writer's work going forward.
