About the Author

Jimmy is a former journalist turned writer and filmmaker. He directed a feature film of the same name "A Journey Through Pines" and is based on this book.

Born and raised in Alabama, Jimmy has traveled across the country writing about other people. One of his greatest accomplishments is being the only journalist to ever take Karl Hettinger back to the Onion Field where his LAPD partner was fatally shot in 1963. The incident became the best-selling book of Joseph Wambaugh.

Jimmy's other films include LIVE; 4 Phone Calls From Amelia, and Cake and Fireflies. He also produced the audiobook titled A Mule + A Cow & 5 Jugs of Shine. His film production company based in Mississippi focuses on stories with a Southern voice.
