Maggie is marrying Beck. Just before the wedding Kitty over hears Beck saying Maggie will make him lots of money. Kitty feels she has to stop the wedding before Maggie gets hurt. Maggie won't listen and Kitty takes matters into her own hands. After the wedding gets cancelled Kitty discovers her mistake plus her feelings for Beck. Will Maggie take Beck back? This is a well written story with strong emotional feelings and believable characters. Couldn't put the book down.

3 stars I purchased the novella The Bridesmaid Series book 6: A Kiss is Just a Kiss / The Summer Bridesmaids book 1/ Magnolias and Moonshine book 17 by Melinda Curtis and this review was given freely. As the oldest sister, Obstetrician Kitty protected her sisters by vetting their boyfriends with the kiss test. Unfortunately the latest test backfires resulting in Kitty falling in love with her sister Maggie's fiance, the horse breeder Beck. Humor in the form of capers performed by an unfiltered grandmother with dementia livens what could be a serious and dark story.

Kitty has always been a mother/father to her sisters always watching out for them, stepping in and giving them direction, stopping them from making a big mistake. For sister Maggie this is not the first time she has stepped in to show her dearly loved sister she had picked the wrong man. When Kitty over hears something she doesn’t like that she thinks can hurt her sister she steps up to the plate and deals with the issue like she had in the past. Which turns a wedding upside down leaving her wondering if she oversteps the bounds? When the fallout comes it leaves everyone on the run, the groom chasing the bride, Kitty and Grandma chasing the family trying to get their personal things that seemed to have been taken when the family took off on the run. What they end up with is one hilarious trip that will keep you in stitches. I thought I would die laughing at her grandmother, in fact I was eating when I read one part and spit my food out. I had to wonder if granny was really off a little in the head or if she was playing them all having a blast and laugh at them. Poor Kitty has her hands full with both Granny and Beck if one isn’t pulling her chain the other is. Which leads to one interesting trip the long away around. Beck is truly broken hearted but is it that his wedding day was over without a bride or was it for another reason? He does get a little revenge throughout the trip but Granny Dottie gets the most she sure pulls some whoppers. I loved these characters they were fun and so full of their selves. I am not sure I would have done as Kitty did but it sure made for some fun reading. The plot was very well thought out, the characters were very interesting keeping the story moving at a fast pace. I thought it was well written and so worth the price. I had no trouble picturing each scene and laughing my head off. It is truly an outstanding book that I can’t wait to read again and again.

A KISS IS JUST A KISS by Melinda. Curtis. Kelly feels like it was up to her to stop the wedding, and it was less than 30 minutes. They're walking down the aisle and she kisses Beck, the groom. He was bragging to everybody about the money his wife would be making for him. Kitty and Grandma are stranded in Florida and who is the only person that can help them is Beck the groom. This is a ilarious plot, of what can go wrong, and does. Willner younger sister, Maggie ever forgive, and will the wedding still come about.. readers will love this, The characterizes are rich in their description. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

Kitty, the oldest sister, has always been the level-headed sister. While growing up, the sisters used the "kissing" test as a way to weed out the men who weren't worth the effort of a relationship. While pursuing her dreams, Kitty wasn't always around to make sure Maggie was making wise decisions. On Maggie's wedding day, Kitty overhears Beck saying he's marrying Maggie for what she has--a horse with race horse breeding potential. Kitty makes a rash decision and proceeds to kiss the groom during the wedding ceremony. What turns out to be a kiss that stops the wedding, ends up making Kitty feel things she's never felt before. Beck is a guy you love to hate. In the beginning of the novella, you see him as greedy. Beck wants breeding rights of the horse and is willing to marry, use Maggie to get them. When kissed by Kitty, Beck is furious. Gentleman that he is though, he agrees to take Kitty's grandma back to Atlanta. While traveling, Kitty and Beck get to know each other. They realize that their differences make them perfect for each other, but neither acts upon their desires until issues with Maggie are cleared up as they don't want to further hurt her. I really enjoyed this novella. It had all the feels of romance. It was a sweet, heartfelt, funny novella. Granny and the alligator farm adventures were HILARIOUS!!! Cute summer read. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Kitty is in Boca Rotan for her sister's wedding. She's one of the bridesmaids. She doesn't believe Maggie should marry Beck so she kisses him at the altar. No wedding, no problem. Right? What happens next is a sweet, romantic romp. Kitty is torn between love for her sister and desire for Beck. He, also, feels the heat. Their chemistry is amazing. When their together, sparks fly. After the wedding disaster, Beck still helped Kitty and her grandmother. What a good guy! Their road trip was hilarious. Grandma Dotty was wise and wacky. I admired her sense of adventure. I enjoyed A Kiss Is Just A Kiss. It was humorous and romantic. This story showcases Melinda Curtis's writing at its best. This story made me believe in true love and forever happiness. I'm looking forward to reading more Summer Bridesmaids romances.

After reading the summary, I couldn’t wait to read this book! Kissing your sister’s groom publically has got to cause all kinds of problems. I had to know how things would work out! After ruining her sister’s wedding, Kitty Summer is abandoned in Florida by her family. She has no clothes and no money and the only person she can ask for help is Beck O’Brien, the jilted groom. As you can imagine, saying the situation is awkward is an understatement. Thankfully, Grandma Dotty is also with them. She is hilarious and quite the handful! Her mind is not always one hundred percent there, but she sees and understands the important things. I really liked both Kitty and Beck. Kitty is fiercely protective of her sisters. She loves them and would do anything for them. Beck is such a good person. He is hard working and kind. Both had circumstances in their lives that affected their views on love. I enjoyed watching them learn about themselves, each other and love as they traveled to Atlanta. The book turned out to be everything that I’d hoped. I loved the story, the characters, the writing, the humor, the romance, and I loved the way it ended. I’m looking forward to reading about the other Summer sisters. I was given a copy of the book, which I voluntarily reviewed. I have given my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed this story by Melinda Curtis! Kitty Summer has been taking care of her sisters ever since her mom shutdown emotionally after having to deal with her husband's many affairs during their marriage. Kitty had never done anything for herself until she went away to college, med school and then became a doctor. During that time her sisters had to learn to take care of themselves, but coming back for Maggie's wedding Kitty immediately steps back in to the caregiving role when she overhears her future brother in-law tell his groomsmen something that makes her question his love for her sister. After that things get a little out of hand and Kitty has no idea how to fix it. I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

This wasn't your typical romance novel. But it was certainly an interesting journey. Beck is set to marry Maggie, Kitty's sister, but Kitty always being protective of her sisters put Beck to the test with a kiss. Unfortunately that test happened in front of a church full of people. That's where the insanity started. Wedding ruined, families left Beck and Kitty behind, along with Kitty's grandmother, Dottie. They embark on a mini adventure combined with a journey of self discovery on their way to catch up with the family so Beck can talk to Maggie. I loved the characters in this story, especially Dottie. She was a hoot!

This is the first installment in a new series by a fun and entertaining author. The theme of the kiss defines how the characters feel about each other from an abrupt end to an engagement to the discovery of everlasting love. Paralleling the grandmother's life with granddaughter's struggle in finding a steadfast love brings tears to the reader while forming a connection with the characters. This story is chock full of adventures that have the reader laughing aloud. I loved this book and would highly recommend it!!

Kitty has always looked out for her sisters so, when she overhears the groom to be talking about making some money off the sister that is getting married, she decides she needs to do something about it. But, things aren't always what they seem. Maybe there is more to Beck than Kitty knows and maybe her sister isn't as happy to get married as she thought. Then you throw in their granny who is full of adventure but has some dementia and you get a fun story.
