Hat's off to Roy Page! What a triumphant and brave author, father and inspiration to pen a letter to his son for ALL of us to share. A Letter to Evan is a poignant and profound journey through a letter written to a son from his father after a heart-breaking divorce. Through bitterness, resentment and loss grows a beautiful love between a father and son. A Letter to Evan is beautifully written, faith-filled and inspires us from the core of parenthood to reach inside and take a good look at our relationships with our own children. After reading this book, as a mom (not a father!)with 4 children of my own, A Letter to Evan is eye opening journey for all of us. If you're a child of divorce, this book is for you. If you are a parent with a child(ren) after divorce, I encourage you to pick this book up! It's invalauable. I really enjoyed reading A Letter to Evan. This is something that I can relate to myself, as I am a divorced father of two children. Once I started reading Roy's story I couldn't put it down until I finished it!
A Letter to Evan is the treasure every son (or daughter) wants from his dad! Many can relate to the author's gradual realization that the life he invested decades in building wasn’t the life of his hopes and dreams. The reality of divorce coupled with a new business strategy that required a lot of travel inspired the author to write a letter to Evan. Father to son. Man to man. The pages testified to a father’s love, the importance of family, encouragement in tough times, vision for the future, instructions for maturity, lessons learned and passed on. These folded pages became the outline for this book. A must read for business travelers, military parents or divorced parents who must maintain a reliable connection with their children in spite of not being physically present.
