This is a collection of poems and shorts stories written over the last sixty five years from a woman who grew up as a Jewish girl in the south at the end of WWII, to becoming a teacher and starting a family in Southern California, to surviving breast cancer twice, to becoming a grandmother and looking back at everything in between.

About the Author
Betty Freedman is a loving wife, mother of three, grandmother of five, and two-time breast cancer survivor. She started writing when she was a young girl growing up in the south and it became her first true love. Born and raised in South Carolina until moving to Forest Hills, NY in sixth grade and eventually moving to Bexley, OH where she would graduate high school. Betty went to the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA and graduated with a BA in History and then moved out west where she was accepted for a masters in Art History at UCLA. She went on to teach fourth, fifth, and sixth grade in the Los Angeles Unified School District for ten years. Betty Harris married Fred Freedman when she was twenty-seven and they have been married for forty-six years now. They are both retired and live in Anthem, AZ where they spend a lot of time reading. Betty continues to write poems and short stories, and has never fallen out of love with the written word.
