About the Author

Thrills, mystery, suspense, romance; Margaret penned it all. Nothing wrong with that—except she happened to be writing for the church newsletter. After making the church picnic read like a Grisham novel, her former pastor took her aside and said, "Maybe God's calling you to write fiction."

So that’s what Margaret did. She now has more than twenty-five novels to her credit, is a New York Times bestselling author and Romance Writers of America RITA finalist—not bad for someone who flunked 8th grade English. Just don’t ask her to diagram a sentence.

Margaret Brownley is one of my favorite authors! She always has strong female characters, compelling stories, and great lessons for her readers to enjoy...all rolled up into one entertaining story. This story was a fun read. Can you imagine being a lone pregnant woman in a town full of men? Or having these same men want to make their town a happy and livable place for women and children because she and her baby remind them of the families they left behind when they headed for the gold fields? Libby started such a revolution in that town making the men long for their families and ddesire to bring then west. And not only create a town more civilized, but more forward thinking than most places were at the time. Where women had a say in town matters and chinese and blacks had the right to vote in town affairs...someething way ahead of its time. It was just a really great story to read. I highly recommend it.
