About the Author

A lifelong reader and dedicated writer, Carol Stubbs has a passion for literature, literacy, and life in Louisiana. Stubbs directs her creative energy toward crafting works that celebrate the culture and lifestyle of her home state. Stubbs earned a BA in journalism from Louisiana State University and an MEd in English secondary education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. A freelance writer for more than thirty years, Stubbs has been a regular contributor to local publications and tourism guides in Acadiana, including Acadiana Profile, Lafayette's Independent, Village Voice, and Louisiana Life. She has also served as an editor for Acadiana LifeStyle and was the longtime editor for a bi-annual bridal guide. Stubbs is a member of the Writers' Guild of Acadiana, Friends of the Library, Friends of the Humanities, and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. In addition, she is an active participant in Volunteer Instructors Teaching Adults. An avid potter, Stubbs is a member of the Louisiana Crafts Guild and the Lafayette Art Association. Along with her group the Cracked Pot Friends, she displays her pottery at festivals and teaches workshops for children. A proud wife, mother, and grandmother, Stubbs lives in Lafayette, Louisiana, with her husband, Bill.
