A Match Made in Spell by ReGina Welling, Erin Lynn

What good is a witch with no magic?

I'm Lexi Balefire and I wear a lot of hats, but none of them are tall and pointy. I spend half my time making love matches that last forever, and the other half trying to keep my faerie godmothers from turning each other into toads. Or worse.

I come from a long line of witches, some of them wicked, but none of that will matter if my magic doesn't awaken before midnight on my next birthday. If I miss that deadline, I'll never be a true witch.

If my mother and grandmotherhadn't used their magic to kill each other, one of them might have been able to give me the keys to the mystery and I'd be one step closer to claiming my Fate Weaver heritage.

Now, I guess I'll have to figure it out on my own.

Couldn’t hardly put it down!

An interesting and well crafted story and characters. Oh the many things Lexi will experience and learn when her powers awaken. Written in an honest and entertaining choice of words that reminds me of Charlaine Harris and Dakota Cassidy. And all will be delighted that this is first in a series! Hooray, more to read. I read this through the Barnes & Noble Free Fridays selection.

I read the free book and bought all remaining books in that series. The writing is very funny and entertaining, BUT the books are ALL NOT “stand alone.” You HAVE to go to the next book because each book does not end. THEN you get to the last book and it is NOT a happily ever after ending. I WAS NOT PLEASED! I felt I had wasted a LOT of money. Maybe if it pleases you that the lead guy does NOT end up with the lead girl and the girl will GO IT ON HER OWN, this series won’t bother you. I am not one of those.

GJRA. I really enjoyed this 188 page paranormal romance, which I'm really not into paranormal. It was hard to put down. Thanks to September 2018 I will not waste money on the rest of the books as like her I want a HEA ending. GJRA

This book was terrific with well developed characters, a lot of romance, magic, & humor. I look forward to reading other books in this series.

The first book was great fun! Our heroine is a very human and likable witch/demi-goddess - I hope I have my terminology correct here. I expect to enjoy this one, and look forward to finding out. what's next.

Perfect light reading when your brain wants entertainment but doesn't want the work of plot and character twists. Well written and enjoyable! Left me wanting the rest of the books in the series so I had to buy them!

As odd as this sounds, I started it finding just something new to try. By 30 pages I figured I'd come back to it after finishing another book I'd started. By the 4th chapter I started losing track of time. Suddenly, I was on chapter 8, then 9, 11, 14 & 18. Lexi Baleful runs a matchmaker business only without PC'S or profiles. She's a witch sort of. She can find someone's true mate but has yet to come into her full power. It doesn't help that her grandmother killed her mother and she never got a chance to learn the skills passed from mother to daughter. Her family, the keepers of the flame, have been all but shunned. When her magical matchmaking goes awry and a local musician, Lexi is just starting to get close to personally, seems to have all the women in town under his spell when he plays, confounding her budding relationship and tearing apart one of her matches when the bride to be declares him to be her true love and cancels their wedding days before the big event. Lexi is the target for this mayhem just as she comes into her full power. What a power it starts to be when she learns more about her heritage. This book is available free and I reviewed it with no expectation that I would give a favorable review. After reading it, I got the remainder of the serial in my library. Happy reading. It is quite difficult to put down once you start.

I finally found a book that I really could get into. It was humorous, serious at times, and anti evil. The only "real" witchcraft involved bubble gum. I want to read more of this series.

This was a surprising book. I expected a bit of paranormal activity but it is woven in so neatly that fairie godmothers seem quite normal. The story starts out with Lexi knowing she is a witch but she hasn’t come into her powers yet and despairs of ever attaining them. She is the last of the Balefire line and she knows the keeping of the balefire will pass to a different line if her powers don’t awaken. This story is entertaining and fun and keeps you reading to the end. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
