Overview

This kitchen isn't big enough for both of them . . .

If there's anything Anna Madison knows, it's how to turn life's lemons into a lemonade cocktail served in a vintage glass. So when her beloved Briar Creek café burns down, she sees it as an opportunity to start fresh. But the only kitchen available to her is in the diner down the street-owned by her sinfully sexy ex.

If Anna thinks she can take over his greasy-spoon kitchen with her high-end cuisine, Mark Hastings is about to set her straight fast. Their breakup is his biggest regret-not that he'll ever admit it to her. Nope, he'd rather show her exactly what she's been missing. With desire set on a high simmer, their menu is about to get a whole lot spicier . . .

This was a really sweet, funny, small-town contemporary romance. I really enjoyed seeing Mark and Anna struggle to get over their past, and the author did a clever job of incorporating their history. Mark had treated Anna horribly in the past, and she has every reason to be mad at him, but because you see the softer side of Mark, you also know why she hasn't ever really gotten over him. Deep down, he's a keeper. I also enjoyed the secondary storyline in the book--that of the sister Jane, who has her own troubles. I really connected with this character just as much as Anna, as she dips her toe in the (not so wonderful)dating scene and struggles to get over her ex husband and adjust to life as a single mother at a pretty young age. The setting of this book was idyllic, and there are plenty of characters to make things interesting. I'll be buying the next book in the series when it comes out!

I love second chance love stories and this one was really great. The town of Briar Creek is so charming, I wanted to pack my bags! The characters are really interesting, too, and you couldn't help but identify them and hope that they find their way back to each other. I thought the prodding of the nosy character Rosemary made things extra interesting, and added some humor as well. I didn't read the first book in the series, but I now plan to. I'm looking forward to the third book, too! Overall, a sweet, funny, charming, feel good read. Highly recommended.

A Match Made in Main Street is book 2 of the Briar Creek series. I am a huge Briar Creek fan since reading book 1, love the town and the 3 sisters, and this is a really charming and lovable addition to this series! Mark and Anna are both chefs and have somewhat of a complicated past. When the two are thrown together while Anna needs kitchen space, they start to experience that old spark. But can they both move beyond their fears? I am certain the next book will continue on with how their relationship progresses along with the new restaurant, Rosemary and Thyme - LOVED that name by the way! GREAT series and you must experience the charm of it for yourself!

Anna Madison is the owner of the Fireside Cafe in Briar Creek but when a fire shuts down her cafe, she is devastated.  With a huge loan owing on the Cafe, she is hoping that the repairs will be completed quickly so she can reopen.  In the meantime, she is working long hours baking in her tiny kitchen at home so her goods can be sold at Main Street Books.  Her dream has always been to expand her Cafe and offer a baked goods section along with a fine dining area. Mark Hastings runs a Diner down the street from Anna’s place.  It actually belongs to his mother but he has run it for a number of years now.  A trained culinary chef, Mark returned to Briar Creek when his mother was diagnosed with cancer.  Now that she is in remission, Mark is getting antsy to find a restaurant where he can put his real talents to work. Mark and Anna have a past.  They both attended culinary school and had a love affair, but Mark broke it off and left Anna hurt and carrying a sad secret.  Even though they live in the same town, they avoid one another.  However, Mark offers the use of his large, industrial sized kitchen at the Diner for Anna to use while her Cafe is being repaired.  Reluctant at first, she finally agrees and communication begins between them. Members of their families are friends and Mark’s aunt, Rosemary, is a bit of a matchmaker who is always looking to pair up couples.  Anna is truly not interested, but trying to avoid Rosemary is difficult so she agrees to a few blind dates that turn out to be disastrous. When Anna and Mark hear about a cooking contest sponsored by a maple syrup company and offering a huge monetary prize, they agree to enter and prepare some dishes.  This leads to more togetherness for them and sparks between them begin to rekindle. Will Anna be able to forgive Mark and try to make a go of their relationship again?  Will they win the contest?  What about their futures?  Will they be able to realize their dreams of owning a nice restaurant. This is Book 2 in the Briar Creek Series.  The next book will be entitled “Hope Springs on Main Street.”
