When I finished book 1 in this series, I immediately went out and bought book 2! I finished it in one sitting. It is even better. The author does a wonder job with character development and doesn't always have those characters do the expected thing! I think I have done a 180 with the person that I want Lily to end up with! This series has everything that I like in a book--a Victorian setting, strong heroine, adventure, unexpected twists and turns, and romance. I can hardly wait for book three to be released!
This is book two in the Dark Matters series, and I loved it from beginning to end. Ms. Robyns creates a vivid alternate world within the strictures of Victorian England, giving us lots of clever plot twists and turns to make it a gripping, seat-of-the-pants page-turner. The main characters (Lily, Kelan and Greyston) leap off the page with their wit and steamy interactions as they deal with the push-and-pull of their love-triangle, whilst racing against the clock to hunt down demons who've invaded society and taken on human form, and to save their world, and their very lives, from these sinister forces. It's an imaginative and fast-paced read, and I highly recommend it (along with book one in the series).
