This was an interesting set of stories that show you how some people are praying for their sons. It gave me some good pointers. I received this book from book fun.org for a fair and honest opinion.

Following along the same lines as the previous book, A Dad’s Prayers for His Daughter, A Mom’s Prayers for Her Son is a mom’s prayer guide for praying for her son’s or sons’ lives. There are 77 sections in this book and each section starts off with a Bible verse or verses, a prayer (really helpful for when you can’t find the words), and sometimes another mother’s story. What I really liked about the prayers was that not only are we praying for our sons, but also ourselves and how we can better communicate, be an example, etc. and apply that to our own lives. This is a great book for moms with boys and would be great to use as part of a mother’s devotional as each section is short enough to quickly read and not add to her already busy life. It is a keeper for my shelf and reread of many more times through the years. I received this book from The Book Club Network, Inc. and the opinions expressed are my own.

A Mom's Prayers for Her Son By: Rob & Joanna Teigen What a wonderful book. I wish I would of had this to help guide me with my sons. I like for each topic there are Biblical verses and then a prayer for guidance. This book has 77 prayers to help cover different areas and needs of your sons life. Also has encouraging stories from mothers. Lots of wisdom in this book to help Mom's no we are not perfect but with God all is possible. I would encourage all parents to read this book and have it on hand as a guide. I would probably say you could adapt it to be helpful for all children. This book is a 5 star book.  I was thrilled when this book came out and I had the opportunity to read it. Not only do I have a son, but I also have quite a few grandsons. So many times as a mom and Nana I have a difficult time understanding and relating to them. Yet I am incredibly blessed to know God loves them all, and He created each the way He wanted them to be. So as I pray, not only will He be working in their lives, but also helping me to better love and understand them. This book is full of wonderful ideas and Scriptures of things to pray about for your son. Also incorporated are short stories that will give encouragement to your  heart. As things come up, I find myself turning the pages and looking for Scriptures I can use to pray about a particular area of his life. A few areas that really stood out to me: When he needs wisdom When his faith is shaken When he needs self-control When he's bored When he's competitive There is so much more, with over 10 life areas to pray about - this book covers ALOT! If you have a son or grandson - you will certainly want to get a copy or give a copy. We can never pray too much for our children.    I received a copy of  this book from Revell in exchange for my honest opinon.

Have you ever wondered what exactly you should be praying for when it comes to your children?  A Mom’s Prayers for Her Son will take the worry away.  In fact, when I received this book to review, I made the decision to not just pray the prayers alone, but I included my son in the process.  It’s wonderful to know someone is praying for you, but to know the details of those prayers brings a peace to that person.  Many of the topics covered included bits and pieces my son couldn’t even voice that he needed.  We would read and pray the prayers, and my son would say, “That’s it! That’s what I’ve been feeling.” To help you know what some of these topics are in the book, here is a short list of some of my son’s favorite and most useful during this time in his life: 1) When he needs to stand up for what is right. 2) When he’s angry. 3) When he’s looking for God. 4) When he’s rejected. 5) When he’s bored. 6) When he’s holding a grudge. 7) When we need time together. 8) When he needs a good example. 9) When he feels pressure to succeed. 10)When I don’t know what to pray. And about 70 more!

This is such a great book to read straight through or use as a reference. It is broken up into scriptures/prayer for different areas that your son may be going through. It also has stories throughout the book from moms that have been there. As a parent of two sons, I will be using this as a reference to help me with the different areas my sons are struggling with. This book will be on my nightstand to read every night! I highly recommend this book to especially those with sons and who want to raise godly sons. I received this book from bookfun for my honest opinion.

Ah, to be a boy's mama.  We're lucky ladies you know. Little surprises we find in pockets. Those little treasures sometimes make it through a whole wash load. (anyone know how to get cherry chapstick out of cotton dress shirts by the way?) I've touched briefly on the fact that my son lives with Attention Deficit Disorder. The letters A.D.D. mean nothing. He's a normal 9 (almost 10 he'll remind) year old that just processes things much differently.  We often find ourselves sounding like a stuck record "pick up your socks, pick up your socks, PICK. UP. YOUR. SOCKS!" For some reason, this year has been particularly challenging to me as a mama. Granted it's been a rough couple of months since I lost a dear friend and trying to be mama and going through the stages/phases of grief is not an easy thing. I opted to take on a new book to review at the beginning of September. Thinking it would be a little bit of an escape. The title really stood out to me because what mama couldn't use a little encouragement in the prayers department? A Mom's Prayers for Her Son - Praying for Every Part of His Life  by Rob & Joanna Teigen This is definitely a great companion alongside the Bible. I really enjoyed this book because outside of reading it front to back, you could search the table of contents and find just what you're looking for. The stories included from other mom's gave it a good "you're not the only one that's going through this" feel.  I know I'll be face to face (and eye to eye literally) with a teenager in just a few short years and being able to utilize these prayers to stay prayed up will be a great resource for me to build on. I would recommend this book to boy mama's of any age. It appears to be for preschool and older but, if you're a planner like me and want to get prepared, this book is definitely for you. I think it would make a wonderful "just because" gift as well. I would like to thank Revell publishers for providing me a copy of this wonderful book to review.

Rob and Joanna Teigen in her new book, “A Mom’s Prayers for Her Son” published by Revell shows us Praying for Every Part of His Life. From the Back Cover:  From the moment your little boy was born, you knew you were going to be doing a lot of praying. So you may wonder, What exactly should I be praying for? Now the authors of A Dad’s Prayers for His Daughter show you how to pray for every area of your son’s life. Rob and Joanna Teigen give you a strong foundation to build a lifelong habit of prayer for your son with a collection of specific prayers you can use to get started right now. With engaging stories from well-known authors such as Kathi Lipp, Pam Farrel, Lisa Samra, and others, you’ll learn how to pray for your son’s development of character, courage, self-control, forgiveness, and more. Remember: you may not always understand your son, but God does! Start asking for his guidance, protection, and blessings today. This is a special book. There is nothing that comes close to the prayers that a mother makes for her children. All a mother wants for her boys is that they be the best that they can be.  Rob and Joanna Teigen provide us seventy-seven prayers that a mother can pray over her sons. Prayers when they are good, prayers when they are bad, when they are lost and when they need help.  I think this is a great resource for all women and would be a great gift for friends and family. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Revell.   I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Helping me be a prayer warrior on behalf of my sons This year I am becoming increasingly aware of the power of prayer. As a mom there is only so much that I can do for my kids. I can provide a good environment for growth but it's God who does the work of growth in their hearts. Through tough experiences I'm seeing that my prayers are not simply hopes tossed up to heaven but a real, powerful weapon against the work of the enemy in our life. James 5:16b - "The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." In my prayers I am going to battle on their behalf, I'm fighting for their hearts. This book has been an encouragement to me in my prayer work for my sons. I'm finding my heart agreeing with the prayers and praying them for my sons, myself and the rest of my family too. The 77 prayers are not categorized so you could go to any based on what your child might be needing prayer for. There are 15 side stories aside from the prayers and each prayer and story has a few verses of scripture. The prayers are varied on many different areas of his life including: When He's Angry When He Goes Online When He's Stressed When He Feels Alone When He Needs Self-Control Many of them are specific and since I'm reading straight through the book I find that some of them don't apply to his life right now. It would be great to come back to in that time of need or to pray in advance over him. They really could be adapted to any age child, I'm finding that I pray them over my 3 year old and over my 8 year old, but that I most often think of my 8 year old. I can envision the issues he is dealing with today and in the near future. These prayers are helping me be specific in my prayer work for the boys, not just offering up 'Oh Lord, be with them today, help them, keep them safe.' Through these prayers I'm considering the heart of my boys and how I can bring them before God's throne and ask Him to change their hearts, protect their minds and guide them into His truth. I received a copy of this book through the Revell Blogger Review Program, in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

They say it takes a village to raise a child… Well Rob and Joanna Teigen certainly have shared the advice of a “village” worth of experts – and in this case “expert” does not only mean someone who has been taught, tested and certified in the “study” of children. In the case of A Mom’s Prayers For Her Son, “expert” means other parents, pastors and fellow authors. If you are a mother…or you know a mother who has a young son, this book is an excellent choice! There are some mothers who are simply gifted in the area of prayer. We all know them – they’re the ones we ask constantly what they pray about, how we should pray, will they pray for us… This book is for those of us who are NOT so gifted. Sometimes you just don’t know what to pray about and if you are a mother, you really need to know! So buy this book, read this book, and do whatever you need to do to implement this book into your daily prayer routine! Your son will thank you. His future wife will thank you! People you’ve never met before will one day thank you! Praying for sons (and daughters) is one of the most important things we as parents can do! I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

Having sons is such a special blessing from God. There is also a specific burden that comes with being a mom to boys. I love how this book shares in that burden and encourages my heart. I really enjoyed the way the author let her passion for God and her sons come through in the words she used. The scriptures are accurate and used in context. I would recommend this book for moms with boys of any age. I would also recommend this book to first time moms.  While this book is one of  a serious nature, it is still very easy to read and understand. I especially enjoyed the fact that each chapter covers a specific need, therefore it can be read in part or as a whole. It can also be used as a go-to book when you feel the need to pray specific prayers over your sons.  I found myself offering some of these prayers to God as I read through the chapters that related to my boys.  "A Mom's Prayer for her Son" is full of encouragement and guidance for those times when you are not sure what to say. It is filled with Biblical truths to pray over your sons. There are also stories of encouragement and grace from other mothers.  I received this book from Revell Reads. I am honored to submit my review in exchange for this free book.

There is a special place in the heart of mothers for their son. As a mother, you might not understand your son. He doesn't think or act like you do. But he is very close to your heart and you want the best for him. These authors have taken lessons and prayers from their experiences as parents and written this beautiful book. Each chapter begins with several scripture verses that will tie into the prayers. Then a very specific prayer is outlined asking and talking to God about your son. Interspersed between the chapters are, A Mom's Story, where a mother will talk about her experiences with her son and how prayer worked for her. The book is well laid out and easy to read. The subject matter is a serious one, but the content isn't heavy or dry. This is the type of book that can be read through, but also used over and over again as the situations arise. Prayer is an ongoing thing and this book will help with that. I appreciated the author's take on prayer and how she focused on the mother as well as the son. I would highly recommend this book for any mother with a son. I received this book free of charge from Revell Reads in exchange for my honest review.
