A Montana Rivalry

Rusty Blackstone and Warren Weston have spent their whole lives trying their best to spite each other. But they're about to find out what they're truly made of-in the biggest competition of their lifetimes.

The son of wealthy ranch owners, Warren Weston is an only child, torn between the demands of his father and the adulation of his mother. Rusty Blackstone's father is a fiddle-footed cowboy, and his mother holds two jobs to feed him and his sisters. Rusty works hard and barely realizes that they are poor.

The two boys become bitter rivals at their first encounter. They grow up on Montana ranches but see the world from completely different perspectives. When rodeo becomes their passion, they take their rivalry to the roots that have shaped them and the ground they've worked.

A novel spanning twenty years under the blue Montana sky, A Montana Rivalry is a love song to the rancher's grit, and to the determination that drives the fiercest loyalties.

About the Author

Jim Overstreet is a lifelong cowboy. Growing up on a large Montana ranch, he rode horses before he could walk. In addition to raising horses for most of his life, Jim has earned multiple titles in tie down roping, from youth rodeo to the senior circuit. His articles have been featured in numerous equine magazines, including Western Horseman. Jim is passionate about telling stories about the contemporary West that demonstrate the physical toughness, mental determination, and dependence on community inherent to ranching and rodeo.
