About the Author

Manoucher Avaznia was born in 1959 in northeastern Iran. He graduated with bachelor's degree in history from University of Shiraz in early 1986. Since 1989 he has been living in Canada where he got married and has two children. Manoucher has been writing poetry since 2004 in two languages of English and Persian. His English poems have been published in several anthologies in the United States. Few of his Persian poems have been published in Persian local periodicals. In March 2006 he published his first book of selected poems, mostly comprising his sonnets. Nature, social relations, work conditions, motion of things toward calm, and; above all, love are sources of his inspiration.
